"We were in St.Goar and decided to have our lunch at this Resturant based on good reviews.However, to our utter surprise as soon as we entered, a lady waitress started shouting . We hinted her to speak in English. She rudely yelled "close" which with difficulty we gathered that we had to close the door of the resturant through we entered. We were shocked and couldn't fathom for a couple of minutes as to why she behaved rudely, did not greet nor even exchanged a smile, or guide us towards a table. We had no option but to leave. Well we hv been to many restaurants and cafes in other European cities and towns, never ever we faced such a humiliation. We strongly object as well don't recommend tourist to dine there."

"Biggest praise for the delicious vegetable rösti with salad and the potato pancakes with salmon, which we were able to enjoy in the Loreley café restaurant in March 2024. Everything was freshly prepared and was more than plentiful. We were welcomed and served very friendly. The lavish cake and tart counter remains fondly remembered a destination for our next visit to St. Goarshausen! Service: Dine in"

"It's very good because it's plentiful, cheap and so nice to eat lots of fresh veggies instead of sausages and potatoes. But remember that if you're from the UK you are spoilt by the Asian standards that are much higher as there's so much more competition (lots more Asians!) so I would score it higher by German standards but I don't want to get you over excited.Still, very good and a refreshing and healthy change from the norm. If you like it spicier (not German spicy) ask them to cook with the chillies that actually have a kick or ask for it separately (don't use the oily stuff - it's mostly salt!).Also the service is - well, Chinatown style plus, they have a doorbell for each table when you need something!"

"This place is truly an experience like no other. It is very comfortable ( summer might be very hot as there is no air conditioning ) and after you have toured the old castle, you can just go back to your room and wonder at the view, and imagine the serenity of the people's lives living below. Only have two negatives . If you don't like stairs, or have very heavy suitcases , it's very tricky. Secondly, we were in a no smoking room and so were the rooms on either side , however, both in the evening and the morning we had cigarette smoke wafting into our room from the next door neighbours balcony, which is most unpleasant. Perhaps they need to put the rooms where you can smoke on the balcony all together, and have those that you can't smoke in a different area. If you come by train make sure you book a taxi to take your up the hill. We walked with heavy suitcases and it nearly killed us !!"

"This restaurant was recommended by our hotel and we ate here twice during our stay. We tried several different dishes and were extremely pleased with all of them. The schnitzel is nicely cooked and the sauces were wonderful. They gladly substituted sides - would recommend asking for the spaetzle, which was a standout for us. Both meals we had every intention of trying the strudel but were too full for dessert! A nice selection of local wines and helpful service. We did not have a reservation either time (including on a Friday evening) and were seated right away, but they did seem to close pretty early, so call ahead if you're unsure."
