Recommended by our hotel. Reasonably priced and very good meal. We came early without a reservation and had great service. Interesting old building and decor. Apple strudel was outstanding!

We dined at Zur Krone twice during our stay in the charming town of St. Goar. The quality of the food was consistently good, and it seems to attract not only tourists but locals as well. We enjoyed our time here. View menu

We have to agree with an earlier reviewer. We had a reservation and the hostess was nice but our server was incredibly rude. She rolled her eyes at least twice during our few interactions! The food was definitely not worth the trouble. We arrived too late for dinner the night before. Missing dinner was preferable to eating there!

The restaurant had been recommended to us by our hotelier as a venue to try some 'proper' German food. It was fairly busy when we were there but the staff were managing just fine and were really nice and friendly. I opted for the pork schnitzel hunter style which turned out to be perfect but unfortunately, I would have needed a huge appetite to finish it as the meal was so big (definitely not a criticism!). Sadly, I had no room left for a dessert as I had wanted to try the apple strudel but maybe that gives me an excuse to return one day.If you're in the town, I'd definitely recommend a visit but make sure you're hungry!

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel and we ate here twice during our stay. We tried several different dishes and were extremely pleased with all of them. The schnitzel is nicely cooked and the sauces were wonderful. They gladly substituted sides - would recommend asking for the spaetzle, which was a standout for us. Both meals we had every intention of trying the strudel but were too full for dessert! A nice selection of local wines and helpful service. We did not have a reservation either time (including on a Friday evening) and were seated right away, but they did seem to close pretty early, so call ahead if you're unsure. View menu
