Giornata di lavoro. Abbiamo fatto tappa al Ristorante del Corso. Abbiamo ordinato un antipasto, un primo, una bottiglia di vino e siamo stati benissimo. Posto meraviglioso, storico. È la classica trattoria di qualità che tutti cerchiamo. Torneremo presto.

Cercate un ottimo ristorante di pesce fresco ad Ascoli? Beh il Ristorante del Corso è la risposta. Dagli antipasti freddi e caldi alla selezione di primi la qualità non è stata mai messa in discussione. Oramai io e la mia compagna non riusciamo a farne a meno e ci andiamo con cadenza regolare. Suggeriamo di prenotare in quanto è molto richiesto e non ha molti tavoli a disposizione. Consigliamo sicuramente il risotto alla marinara o le linguine con gamberi e pomodorini. You come here to enjoy good quality seafood, in a very authentic italian restaurant. No menu and you may be challenged to ask for the wine list which many may find off putting but rest assured what you order will be good flavoursome food and there's lots of it. After the antipasti we were automatically given crayfish, Vongole and a seafood fagiolli dish before our prima. The squid ink spaghetti was particularly good. On my two occasions here I have never found room for desert and therefore don't know whether it is even on offer. But like I said, you come here for great seafood. Cost is fair at around 100 Euro for 2 for 3 courses, wine and water.

Wow! The antipasto of mixed seafood is practically a glorious meal in itself. It comes out in stages. If you plan to order anything else, you probably want to stick to one antipasto for every 2 people. It 's big. It starts off with a plate of shrimp and other goodies, then moves on to a wonderful fava bean and cuttlefish sort of stew very flavorful, then some whole langostinos, and finally mussels. All terrific. We only had room for a primo after that: we tried the spaghetti frutti di jmare and the fish soup , both excellent. The soup is in quotes because it was not what you 'd normally think of as a soup, rather various kinds of small fish with some bones covered with a small amount of flav...

I feel a little uneasy to title this review 'authentic Italian fish retaurant ' because I am not in a position to judge what genuine 'authentic ' is. However I have no difficulty in believing it is authentic, not in a contrived way for presentation purposes, but in doing what they do the way that they do it. A fish retaurant it certainly is, 100%. Both the authentic and fish tags could be taken to be unreservedly positive, and for those dinners seeking these characteristics out they are. So the Excellent reviews are both understandable and deserved. Others may conclude: 'I 'm glad I went, but just once '.
