"So my wife and I arrived in Bernkastel Kues in 2021. From the relative loneliness and tranquility of the previous stages and the path itself the castle Landshut went to the blessed place on the Moselle next to Traben Trabach and Cochem. We checked our hotel and then turned to Bernkastel. For the evening it was necessary to find a return. At some point we were in front of an old building. A look at the map looked promising and my colleague PetraIO had already fed satisfactorily here. We came and asked for a dinner table. A bit of luck the person needs, and we had this in the form of a reservation for the later evening, so we were offered this table from 6:00 to just before 8:00. That was really nice of the boss that we still offered the table that the house was completely booked on Wednesday night. It went back to the street, we had some time to walk through the old town. In the Vinothek Riesling house we had two good drops, then it was just before 6:00. It went back to the restaurant, the door was open, we went in, were recognized and led to our table. Once you have taken the place, you will be amazed in the building and inside. This is really authentic! Thick walls in the back, deep window cavities, inside in front of the original lead glass window even newer windows. In the old bars of the guest room you get something from the atmosphere. And the whole does not look a bit cheesy or touristy. Even the men wearing leather pants fit in the service. Obviously there were many regular customers who shared the host room with us. The two young men who, together with the boss who gave us the table in the afternoon, were very familiar with them. Wine and water were ordered for the first time. A Bernkastel winery and a local great location after VDP qualification. Once again a not really dry Riesling for me, as I understand, but apart from that a good white wine. He was allowed to stay and we looked in the cards and ordered our dinner. The young man who brought us the wine took care of our table and accepted our order. After the order, a small bread came to the table. Instead of being accompanied by the appetizers, the bread came alone without a companion. That's why we weren't angry that our appetizers came to the table quite quickly. My wife had ordered a soup, served pifferlings cream soup. That was a satt maker. Many cream was processed there, but it was rustic to pifferlings. My wife was happy with her choice. I didn't try it because I had enough to do with my appetizer, Scottish smoked salmon with potato buffer I mean that the card still announced homemade. I'm not sure. Well, the smoked salmon could please, he was just smoked. That would have been enough for me as an appetizer with the mustard herbal sauce, the two buffers were actually too good for an appetizer. Both appetizers almost too lush, so we felt. I hope the main courts weren't similar. For my wife, a rogue court. Moselland beer, seasonal vegetables, napkin dumplings they had ordered from the fixed card. And that's exactly what she has. A delicately swollen beef that is not to be said from the piece of beef with a very good sauce. For this purpose, dumplings and vegetables, my wife was completely satisfied. I had ordered my main dish from the season ticket, where my wife had chosen her appetizers. Pfifferlinge a la creme also vegetarian) with homemade napkin dumplings was my choice. I ordered this in the vegetarian version without further additions. A large cone spoon with fried cream pifferlings was found in the plate. Then 3 slices from the fried napkin cum, simple and good! Perfect late summer plate! I was happy with my food too. We have closed our pretty rustic dinner with an espresso, a dessert no longer went with the best will. The service, managed mainly by two young men, is supported by a young lady and the boss. The two gentlemen did not let themselves go to a weakness and carried out their tasks with sovereign kindness despite the very large customer stands, all tables were occupied. Right in front of our table attendants we shoot the restaurant at the Hotel Doctor Weinstuben and I can draw a conclusion. Bernkastel will certainly not be our favorite destination on the Moselle, as well as the other two well-known Mosel wines, but we had a very neat dinner at the Doctor Weinstuben. If you are looking for an authentic old ambience in Bernkstel and a very well maintained kitchen, you will not be disappointed here. This is not so much the kitchen style of my wife and me, but we would occasionally return."

Very nice building, however the service was really bad. Not friendly at all. We experienced multiple dissapointments with the staff. Also the food is not that great. No pleasant atmosphere for me and my family.

My best meal in Bernkastel: cod with pancetta, tagliatelle and Riesling sauce. The dish was really refined and so tasty. My friend had the fish ragout with wine sauce and rice - which was delicious as well. With adjusted wines - definitely recommended!

This is an old house converted into a cosy little hotel with excellent ambiance and nice people. It is situated at a strategic location from where one can go around this wine town on foot. There is a very nice restaurant situated right opposite, which specializes in potato dishes. Its a must visit. The village itself is situated on Mosel river and is charming.

I am very surprised after several visits through the years in this restaurant, that tonight was a big dissapointment. We ordered one of their spesial dishes, pork filet on spyr, an it came with panfried potatoes and a dash of sour cream. It looked very boring and tasted very boring, and I did not finish eating everything from the plate. I told the waitress, but she did not respond at all. This was so badly, boring and expensive, so will proberly never come back to this restaurant again!

My husband and two German friends stayed here for 3 nights. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely blonde receptionist dressed in traditional german dress - she was so helpful and spoke fluent English and German. We were all shown to a fantastic room(s) which seemed newly developed/decorated, it was light, clean and very spacious. The bathroom had a shower, toilet and sink and was extremely clean and sparkling. The bedding was soft and so clean and fresh. The breakfasts were very nice comprising of hot plate of bacon and eggs, variety of breads and meats, jams, butters, fruits, fruit juices and water. Plenty fresh coffee and a great selection of teas. The waitress was very cheerful and helpful...

"We had made it 120 km in five and a half stages from Trier to Traben-Trarbach. Filled with several beautiful views, some sweating slope, some bottles mostly very good moss wines and many new impressions. Around 2 pm we reached the end of this year's autumn hike, the bridge between Traben and Trarbach. Until the departure of our train back to the local Münsterland we had time to eat, back in Rheine it would have become too late for it. From the bridge we looked down the river and saw various gastronomy facilities. The kitchen of the first destination, the new Moselschlösschen had already closed and pointed to its own pavilion on the shore with onion cake. But in the last few days, we had eaten them enough, we felt like a good lunch. So continue the waterfront down to the Hotel Bellevue. There we saw the map of the hotel restaurant with the hint of a small overnight card . We were a little insecure whether the hotel restaurant would host us even after heavy 120 km and accordingly no longer perfectly socially capable appearance. Our question about a place on the terrace, inside we would not have eaten in view of the elevated ambience, but was positive and very courteously friendly (of course they can eat with us... answered. So we took a seat on the terrace of Mosel and enjoyed this Art Nouveau building in all its facets. One should take the time, even if only terrace guest is to look at the house inside and outside. I've never seen a more magnificent Art Nouveau building in my life! I would have liked to take some of the table lamps inside! Also my wife was gone and gone.... The excellently trained service included the table in gloves and handed us the small afternoon card. A bottle of water and two glasses of dry Riesling (Peter Kallfelz Hochgewächs were ordered quickly. The small card can be seen on the HP of the hotel, we ordered from it: Appetizer: Hearty Moselish marmitschesuppe (Kalbfleisch, Paprika, Onion, Kraut Saure Sahne € 7 Consommé vom Rind Herbal Fledle, Vegetables € 7 Both soups were well prepared, Madame was happy to finally taste a good appetizer again. My marital soup (I can only type this, not speak out reminded a little of my grandma's goulash in childhood days, very deculent, spicy, but after 120 km in the legs exactly the right, it was delicious. As main course: Dried beef tongue Rieslingsauce, parsley potatoes € 16 Fried slices of napkin dumpling on mushroom cream sauce € 14 Madame was able to taste her dumplings and had nothing to do with taste and preparation. After 6 days of Moselkit, I had a desire for something special and ordered the tongue, again a memory of childhood when tongue was served after the slaughter days. A wonderfully delicately cooked tongue in approx. 1 cm thick slices were served, the soup soup was excellent. This court was a worthy conclusion of our hike on the Moselle. Two espresso formed the conclusion. We are already thinking about continuing the hike from Traben-Trarbach and wondering if the Hotel Bellevue also lets hikers return for one night. This was chased and firm when we continue to hike the Moselsteig, Hotel Bellevue will be our starting point. Also on a hike upscale gastronomy is always a pleasure!"
