"We did not understand why our server gave us a cold welcome and equally cold, even unpleasant service, without a single smile. Additionally, what we came for (salmon tartare) was not available, despite the fact that we had asked during a coffee stop a few days before if this dish was still available and we were told assured that yes. No word of apology from the waiter who said let us look at the menu and then disappeared for almost 20 minutes, even though we were ready to order and hungry. The waiter in question ruined the evening for us with his attitude and lack of interpersonal skills. In addition, we heard him taking care of a table of regulars next to us. Completely detestable little cronyism. What a bad experience! And what a shame because the place is nice and we were looking forward to having a good time!"

The shame, salad in black soft bag, canned olive and smoked salmon of the lowest price, don't bother, never again...

Ein verstecktes Juwel am Genfer See; Freundliches Personal; vielleicht verbessert sich der PR des Eigentümers, aber es gibt immer gutes Essen:

The setting is superb, the service is good. But the dishes, a disaster. The fish and vegetables are bathed in oil no taste for a 40CHF dish! . The fries are also full of oils and hard. The Taillecou hamburger, served with a sort of tartar sauce, not good at all. Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 View menu

well done, friendly and cozy place, my Tuesday appointment, warm welcome, boss and staff fast, and responsive, very good food, well served and plentiful.... quality price at the top... I made the trip on purpose from the canton of Friborg for this magnificent and romantic place on the edge of the lake facing the Alps... I am a little shocked by the very negative and not at all constructive opinions which are being made to demolish.... probably organized by the former tenant

Nice location, but I witnessed behavior that shocked me. 3 severely disabled people (in wheelchairs) and the 3 accompanying people sat on the only table on the terrace that could accommodate them, the one “reserved for members of the St-Prex nautical club”. The waiter actually kicked them out of the table (the only one suitable for them) under the pretext that it is ONLY for club members! Nice display of empathy. I have my boat moored in this port, but I will never set foot in this restaurant again.

"Beautiful location, wonderful setting on the terrace with stunning views of the lake. Small aperitif with champagne and strawberry-passion fruit champagne cocktail. The latter was very well prepared with the subtle side of strawberry and passion fruit without being too sweet, a great success. Their salad with their legendary and incomparable sauce is always just as magical, we can 't get enough of it. Second starters with fresh goat 's cheese quenelle and tastings of perch fillets, absolutely nothing to complain about, simply delicious, well done and thank you. A little disappointment when we received the entrecôte (stale on the bone for 21 days) and the beef fillet, which clearly lacked cooking. Both were blue even though we had asked for rare, it 's ok, it can happen but when we asked the waiter to cook them a little more we would have appreciated the simple humility in admitting the mistake rather than try to justify it by citing the size of the pieces of meat which in no way excuses the cooking which is supposed to be mastered by a professional. The second cooking was more satisfying and it must also be said that the pieces of meat were of high quality. 2nd little problem: the fries. Having come to Le Vieux Navire several times in the past, I was also delighted with the matchstick fries which were by far THE best I had tasted, I was disappointed with the fries which seemed industrial or even frozen. When talking to the waiter, first response: they are matchstick fries. We told him no, obviously not and he ended up admitting that they had finished the matchstick fries and had to replace them with others. We would have liked to be notified when ordering and not at the end of the meal. Back home, looking at the photos from the last 2 years on Google it seems that they haven 't been making matchstick fries for a long time. They may have been artisanal but hard to believe and also slightly lacked cooking (personal taste). Once again we would have preferred honesty and transparency from the start. For dessert, unfortunately we were not able to have it on site, due to lack of time, so we had to take it away. The chocolate truffle was really good. The chocolate cake... WOAW! It exceeded all our expectations. We think you should enter it in a competition, because it is by far the best chocolate cake we have ever eaten. On all levels, incredible taste and absolutely perfect textures. Everything you expect from a chocolate cake worthy of the name. We had a very nice evening despite these 2 little hiccups and thank you for that. We look forward to coming and trying the experience again, even if only for the famous salad and the incredible softness. THANKS !"
