"Long time we had paella but never from famous Valencia. In Valencia we looked for authentic and good paella. We came to el Rey Chico. The interior is like in a old house some would call is authentic other lack of design. We had starter with tomato and tuna and of course ordered and paella. Our expectations where high of course. The place is run by a couple and seem to have love for their work. When the paella came it looked great but the deception followed was even bigger. We toke the spoon from one side to the other and didn’t even fill the spoon the paella was so thin we could almost see the bottom hardly enough for two people and not even big eaters. As thin the paella was a hefty was the bill 61 Euro....for us not worth at all. Maybe our expectations where to high ...or maybe not the place for good paella ...a deception richer and a bunch of money poorer. Petty but an experience richer."

Great service and food quality. Small place for locals. You will not see many tourists in this area. Shrimps, Calamari and seafood pállela must taste dishes.

A so beautiful authentic restaurant with a very delicious food! We went here after visiting the city of art and sciences, so make sure you try this restaurant .

Went for lunch in this restaurant, located in a quiet place near the city centre. We ordered the Paella Valenciana, which was absolutely delicious and I would definitely recommend!

We had an excellent experience. Fresh fish to choose from, very fiendly athmosphere, good wine and good advise. The waitress only speaks spanish but the cook even speaks Dutch. For sure a place to go to View menu

Perhaps the most lacklustre paella we had in Spain for €60. The reviews looked great at first, but you've got to wonder how legitimate they are when so many 5 stars are from people with a single review only.

The starters are very good, and the Paella was probably the best from all over Valencia! We have starters paella valenciana and a Sangria at 30 euros. The same order in the city centre is about 45e. Very nice staff!

We took a detour on our way to Oceanografic from Gulliver Park.... so worth it! Off the beaten track, in a residential area, lovely people and super delicious food, including child friendly options when we asked. We thoroughly the marisco!! View menu

You would be like a very welcoming friend. A couple who hold this restaurant are in love in their restaurant. Tiny features on the table, fresh flowers (different every day provide you with feeling that you are at home. The main course you can see before cooking by chief, he just shows you in refrejerator. Portions are very big. So you should think twice before ordering a starter along with a main course; If you live in that area or visit City of Arts please go to this place for a lunch. Trees, shadow, Spanish food and you become like a citizen .

I so wanted to like this place it's just around the corner from our apartment and has got a really quirky feel about it chalk board menus, beer selections and fresh fish. However, the food didn't deliver. We ordered swordfish and sole, both of which were cooked and presented the same way griddled with dill sprinkled all over and served with a burnt aubergine slice, limp looking broccoli and greasy fries that were too over cooked to pick up with your fork. The fish was fresh and tasty but the lack of care with everything else that accompanied it was disappointing. Nice couple running it and pleasant atmosphere but the food needs to be better.
