Staff not very friendly welcoming. Very much treated like tourist took ages to order at the bar, staff seem not interested to serve people. Music was good nice spot for a dance. Bouncers at the doors were very rude. This really spoiled the night.

I hadn't visited this restaurant in 40 years, so I shouldn't have been surprised to see that the old pub was no longer there. There has been a large amount of redevelopment in the area. The current establishment is a plain, open-plan bar. The saving grace is the good selection of real ale, but it doesn't have the traditional feel of a classic pub.

This restaurant is a great choice for those looking for a decent pub in a prime location. The space is roomy, with a large selection of beers, a nice garden, and a lower level with club-like music. Additionally, there is a disabled toilet available upstairs and DJs spinning tunes on both floors. Most weekends provide a very enjoyable atmosphere with good vibes all around. View menu

Good place to sit and watch people walk and scoot by. You could almost believe that you cannot see behind the window until someone he's a teddy bear looking out and smiles. Tea lights and lamps try to introduce a romantic feel to the otherwise basic seating. Pop music is cheerful and not too loud. Though jazz would be terrific. I shared a glass of cat ale with my mummy. It tastes slightly of grapefruit. I like grapefruit, so that was cool.

Decent taps here and pretty steady with a young clientele. The ceiling was leaking in a few places and there was no toilet seat in the mens room, which made things a bit awkward in a sensitive moment. The old school Decore and interesting ceiling was pretty cool and it was a great place to people watch. Heaters on the patio and a decent menu. I work at the E&C in Toronto so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to check out the spot, and I’m glad I did.

Food used to be amazing we were coming here quite often just for the food! It’s recently gone really downhill though. One time we came, there was hardly any seasoning and the next time, the “salad” was just a pool of salty oil and half of the fries were burnt to a crisp so inedible. Not sure what happened but now we’re on the lookout for a new local with good food :S Three stars for great atmosphere and lovely bar staff though. Luckily that hasn’t changed! View menu

Popped in here for a quick cider with my friend, it was uncanny and strange to be able to go straight to the bar and order but also a welcome relief. Although the place itself is a bit dank and dark. It needs a new lease of life. Although I do like the interesting style of the roofing, almost looks like upside down sinks which gives the place some intrigue. I feel like it has a lot of potential and plenty of space to really bring the atmosphere up to another level.

During the Eat Out to Help Out promotion, I had a great lunch experience at this restaurant with fabulous prices. The service at the bar was friendly and efficient. The menu is simple, offering three types of burgers (beef, chicken, or vegan bean patty) with fries, as well as a quinoa salad option. You can also simply order fries if you prefer. We tried the vegan burger and the chicken burger, along with two fizzy drinks for £14 as part of the promotion.
