"Just spent 7 days in CST and probably due to the time of year, there weren't many eateries evident in town. We found Bar Elisir to serve really good food in an great atmosphere. We actually ate here 6 days out of 7 and were not disappointed. The owners and waitress were really friendly and are happy to cater for changes to the dishes if you would like. I found the young man who waited on a couple of evenings difficult to communicate with and he did not speak very much at all. He was a bit like the proverbial silent waiter!! Pizzas are really good but ask to cut down on the cheese a bit as it makes the pizza base a bit soggy. The fish, chicken and beef dishes are all well cooked with good sized portions. Drinks are reasonably priced and you could expect to spend around 50 euros on a meal for 2. The ice cream is also recommended, especially the cherry flavour. Do your self a favour if in the area, drop in and say Hi, and then stay for a meal."

Good value pizza on main boulevard. Nice setting with friendly waiters. Pizzas were ok but we have had better. Lovely stray cat ‍ loved the pizza: View menu

I passed this gelateria while visiting Santa Cesarea Terme. I had a cone with nutella/caramel and something chocolate with cream. It was the BEST ice cream in my 10 days Puglia. The extorior might not be appealing, but go in for the ice cream!

Just driving through Santa Cesarea Terme, we wanted a quick and easy lunch and that's what we got. My better half very much liked his roasted chicken with potatoes. My gnocchi (a special of the day) was fine. Seems like a friendly family-run place. Nothing special but not bad.

the rather inconspicuous restaurant bar elisir was the only restaurant that was still open in the afterseason (end of October). we had dinner there in the evening. spaghetti vongole were plentiful and good, the grilled heavy fish also and the pizza tasted us very well. rather unusual for italics when used on Austrian pizzas. We thought this would be a nice, quaint, hole in the wall restaurant. As it turned out, we had to wait about 15 minutes before anyone paid us any attention, although they promptly looked after some Italians that arrived after us. The service was extremely slow, unco-ordinated, with us having to ask for things like plates for the bread and olive oil. The food was not warmed properly, and to be honest was to the standard of the worst British cafe rather than a good local Italian restaurant. The cost of wine by the glass, house wine, was ridiculous! The only thing that saved the place was the locally made ice cream. Now that I would recommend.

Not the most inspiring of places to eat but frankly there 's not much choice of above average eateries around here. Pizza Margherita was quite nice not too thin, made with fresh tomatoes and the place is certainly better than its competitor directly above it for food (Torre). Mrs D8 's pasta al panna was also OK,the house wine was eminently quaffable (although don 't spill any on your paintwork) although my 4 euro salad consisted of (I kid you not) half an iceberg lettuce with one rocket leaf. Seriously? So, as my American friends would say, not a hearty recommendation but for what choice of eateries available in late September, this one sucks the least in SCdT.

"More than top! location: 10/10 vignacastrisi is the perfect compromise between the best known and the best to discover; inserted between a series of beautiful villages is 5/20 minutes from the most beautiful sea of the salento (port miggiano, castro marina, the green cave, port badisco, tricase port etc.) and charming villages. the bnb of rocco is beautiful, built with passion over the years, garden with centuries-old olive trees and pool, a restaurant of level and small but comfortable and functional rooms; in particular our with a beautiful and large terrace garden and pool view. restaurant : excellent price ratio. dishes cured with fresh produce, very good wine selection, ok service with a touch of fantastic fraternity. hospitality : super, we felt immediately more than at ease, buzz is really an exceptional host. available and elastic to make the stay of the guests ideal. he made available boules with ice glasses and corkscrews to drink our wines on the terrace, he satisfied the request of an overhanging egg with a little cheese in the morning as well as croissant cappuccini pastries water ham cheese hot bread etc. all considering that it hosted us in his bnb for 3 nights of which two with a wonderbox, it is not from all. special mention: one evening at the restaurant there was a confirmation, we became almost invited added, wonderful people, evenings to remember. It will be a fixed stage when we return to salty. I'll be waiting for you for our food and wine tour from my side."
