"From walking in, the chefs greeting you, you feel how cosy it is; with only around sixteen seats, you feel treated that you have a place. Being shown to our table, we were given our menus, and whilst the menu is small you by no means feel limited. We went for the 3 course omakase; for us, the perfect amount of food. The first course, the fish in egg roll, with spicy mayo, highlighted the fish, but married it to other flavours without it being overpowering. By looks alone I was very impressed. The second course to me was the star of the show. Our tray with bites from salads, to sashimi, to deep fried elements, we’re exceptional. The salads small but each concentrating on key flavours; the sashimi high quality, cut to perfection notable mention goes to the toro; the deep fried elements, the rice cakes and croquets were texturally wonderful and had rich deep flavours. The soup after, to me, was confusing. A wonderful potato and dashi soup but felt marred by sharp elements of lemon pulp. Finally, we had what we thought might be the star of the show. For our mains we all ordered the Wagyu; however, I was slightly underwhelmed. Served on a hot stone, I just left thinking I’ve had better Wagyu. That wasn’t to say it was good but compared to the rest of the meal? I would have stuck with fish. That said, it came with a wonderful salad and dressing, rice cooked with mushrooms cooked to perfection, and charred vegetables. I left dreaming of the fish, but the meat? Not so much."

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Great service very subtle not intrusive but at the right level to make you feel not only comfortable but welcome and valued.

This remains the most outstanding Japanese restaurant which my wife and I have visited. The food is perfectly prepared and the set menu which we chose was ideally balanced. The service was both discreet and attentive. I could not recommend it more highly.

This is a place you will love if you like real Japanese food. I saw some reviews which I suspect are from people are not used to certain Japanese quality standards. The food, the quality, the service, everything is amazing. And the fact the restaurant is so tiny is also big plus! Well done! View menu

Exceptionally helpful and elegant staff. The food, I was unsure whether it was art to look at or to eat, its presentation was superb and that was matched by the taste which we all thought was exquisite. A really satisfying evening though with too much saki a little expensive We look forward to going again.

We paired the tasting menu with a nice French Chablis. Outstanding! The sampling was delicious, artistically presented, harmonious, and left us wanting more. The friendly staff were attentive and took time to describe the dishes. The main was a mix of black cod and wagyu beef served on a hot stone — perfectly prepared and astonishingly good. We finished with a wonderful dessert. Put it on my favorite list of London restaurants.

Small upscale Japanese restaurant with very limited seating. Full mostly of visiting Japanese tourists from the Ham Yard hotel across the street. Set lunch menus and a la carte available. Menu options are quite limited and fresh, so check the season menu. Bento boxes are fun and beautifully presented. No real ‘wow’ moments with the food (with the exception of their vegetarian miso soup) but restaurant team are friendly and there is a calm and lovely escape from the Soho/West End hustle. Very nice neighborhood, with cosy lights and friendly people. Pleasant welcome at the entrance. We took the 5 course Wagyu menu. Very good. Really exceptional. All the little trays, and each bite was prepared with so much attention and care. We enjoyed sitting at the bar and look at the chefs making all this delicious food for us. The service was very good, paying attention to the customer and refilling our water and wine all the time. What an amazing evening. We can recommend this restaurant! Kind regards, Kim Stijn Mulder Struik).

I have been coming to this tiny restaurant hidden in Ham Yard ever since it opened and during most of my regular London visits, and I have always loved it and the quality of its dishes and the service team. Yet, the last few times there was always something that wasn 't right. When you order the Wagyu beef on the hot stone, you would expect the stone to be really hot, so that you can do the finish to the meat the way you like it. Twice, the stone wasn 't hot enough the first time I just didn 't eat the meat and the second time, I gave it back and asked to be served again with a stone that is actually hot. There had always been really good and nice staff that served at the tables but on my mo...
