"Great building, breakfast let it down... We recently went to the Engine room for a breakfast. The building itself is lovely, they have kept most of the original features and you get a real sense of the building in years gone by. Food I ordered bacon well done, sausages, hash browns and poached eggs. My daughters ordered poached eggs on toast. The positives: one of my daughters received perfect poached eggs and enjoyed their breakfast. Sadly my other daughters' and my poached eggs resembled eggs that had been boiled for a week, the sausages were ok, but I did not think much to the thick bacon. I asked if I could have replacement runny poached eggs, the lady did not have a problem with this request however, it took an age for them to come and by the time they did the breakfast was cold and I left most of it, which was a waste of food and money. Small issues that could be easily rectified. Again lovely building..."

I went to this restaurant located right next to the Travelodge. The avocado and eggs toast was a great value at less than £5. The coffee was just okay.

Found this place after staying at the nearby Travel Lodge. Great breakfast at a great price served by friendly staff. My pet hate is a mug of hot water with a t bag in this is why I’ve not given 5 stars. A teapot of tea would make all the difference. View menu

We recently dined at The Engine Room at Dean Clough for the first time and we will definitely be back! The counter staff greeted us warmly. My gluten-free breakfast was both tasty and beautifully plated. We were also pleased to find self-serve water available.

Stayed at the Travelodge nearby and came here for breakfast. Good healthy options aswell as English Breakfast. Coffee was lush. Popped back in for a yummy toastie for lunch. Prices are very reasonable and food is very tasty. Staff helpful and friendly. Well worth a visit.

The restaurant closes at 1:45pm, which is ridiculous. The food in the fridge was unappealing, with cheap-looking rolls filled with unimaginative fillings. The place was empty and lacked any atmosphere. The staff need to cheer up. If they respond in a defensive manner, it probably says it all. View menu

We live locally and like to eat out for breakfast every so often. Called here as we had to visit Dean Clough. Very pleasant and attentive staff, good variety of foods, food as ordered arrived in reasonable time. Constant flow of folk calling for coffees and takeaways. We felt comfortable there, nothing to quibble about hence 5 stars.

I’ve recently started working near this place and heard a few people mention it so as I arrived earlier than expected for work I thought I’d treat myself to some breakfast, what a treat it was too. Love that they’ve kept the old style mill doors in keeping with the mill. Inside is cosy with comfy chairs, heating on and open kitchen. Ordered at the counter with a very happy member of staff, they had numerous different milk options for the non dairy drinkers which is fabulous! The food arrived quickly, hot and tasted great! All at great value too!

"After using cinnamon spice for many years, last nights service was appalling. 4 hour wait for a curry ordered at 6pm via their website paid for in advance. Many calls during the evening and reassurance given even at 7.30pm informed it was being cooked clearly incorrect misleading information. After an evening of multiple calls to the restaurant having the phone just ringing out, calls cancelled and text messages unanswered I did speak to the restaurant at 10pm they still were giving excuses the curry was being cooked totally unacceptable. A family evening spoilt without even the courtesy to call us and inform us of a 4 hour delay. I dread to think of people who ordered after 6pm when or if their food arrived or was it just ours that was forgotten. The restaurant should not accept orders they cannot deliver in a timely manner and if a delay is above the informed time of delivery the customer should be informed at least then giving us the option of sourcing the families evening meal elsewhere. We are still awaiting a refund which was not processed last night as promised, again very disappointing when the money is taken out if the bank immediately refunds should also be prompt. A family evening ruined by incompetent organisation of a takeaway service which surely was anticipated to be busy, even more disappointing as the food us usually very good but significantly let down by the operational management."
