"Though my family aren’t religious my dad has long claimed to be gastronomically Jewish. Just like everyone he craves the comforting food of childhood that he ate growing up in the East End of London. Living in Stamford Hill, my dad could easily grab a salt beef bagel (or two! , pick up some gefilte fish or get a good dose of chicken soup. There aren’t many Jewish restaurants in London and most are located in Jewish communities such as Golders Green, so it’s not an easy task finding my dad a restaurant that serves his favourite childhood classics. That’s why when I saw the menu at Fischer’s I knew it would be perfect for him…Ok, Fischer’s isn’t a Jewish restaurant, it’s actually Austrian…but the menu is packed with his favourites and trust me there aren’t many places in London with chopped liver and pickled herring on the menu. Chopped liver is my dad’s absolute favourite and he had no doubt what (one of his starters would be. Fischer’s serve it with Matzo, as it is traditionally served at Passover, an religious occasion where leavened bread is forbidden. I asked my dad if it was as good as his sister makes, ‘No’ was the reply….well I guess it’s never quite the same…but he still gobbled the whole thing up and was so excited by the menu that he had two starters."

I was very much in Austria and this restaurant is authentic with its food and decor. Be ready to spend money, but it's worth it. We had a nice meal. The staff was great and complemented the experience and ambience.

I met a customer here for breakfast. you feel like you're stepping into a bit of Austria, it's just so authentic. beautiful polished wood, so a luxurious feeling. difficult to inspire about the breakfast, we both had the healthy granola with obst and yogurt, very tasty. I'd like to eat here.

A wonderful Austrian restaurant in Marylebone. The interior is beautifully decorated and the staff is very beautiful and attentive. The food is very authentic and absolutely tasty, from the Schnitzel to the cheese parrot to the Kaiserschmarrn. The prices are quite high, but it is worth a special occasion.

Wonderful atmosphere and value for money. Very interesting lavatories (check out the walls! The vegetarian menu is a joy! Vegan also available. Deserts are fabulous!! Just fabulous. Tea could be better... Waiter's are reliable. All in all, definitely a place you'll want to revisit. Additional plus being the wonderful neighborhood where the restaurant is located.

Fischer’s is a beautiful cafe and restaurant located on Marylebone High Street. Their classic Viennese café menu runs from breakfast to morning coffee, through to lunch, mid-afternoon snacks and a full dinner service. But best of all, it is the perfect place to linger over a decadent and authentic Viennese coffee and cake and to celebrate Austria day, this is exactly what we did!

Fisher is where I discovered a bit of Austria in the belly of London. They were there twice and never disappointed, on the contrary. Atmosphere: super. Cuisine: even better than what I experienced in Vienna (not joke. The staff is top notch, the interiors are excellent (although I regret the stuffed animals on the walls. Make room for dessert whatever you take. Mint tea was also perfect, helps you feel easier.

This is the best Austrian restaurant in London that has lived in Vienna for many years. I would step back if I did not highlight the quality of their kitchen, ambience and service. Recommend the Senf Hering and Lachs (select 3 but liked the must better), the Beetroot salad is gorgeous, regular aser holstein schnitzel were phenomenal authentic, fries mash as sides very good, to drink we really enjoyed the wine and sazerac, followed by traditional dessert Kaiserschmarrn!! Top notch from the fish net was the whole sole, from the bone, words cant do it justice!!!! Must try it! Nice to have improvements: serve warm bread against room temperature, austrian potato salad cut to thin vs wedge.

had a nice dinner here on Saturday, in a big wooden environment, feels like they were in Austria! the filled animal heads on the walls are a bit scary. the room reminds me of a crowd the grand budapest hotel movie. toilets are equally large, although small eating is wonderful, very authentic. for the appetizers we had wild mushroom berries and a selection of 3 brotchen very tasty delicacies on a little sourded brot 'soldiers' for the netzen we had both carved calves in brotkrümeln,) an enormous dish that both of us beat but very tasty. we had sides of creamy maish and baked flower cabbage. beautiful warm stretch with cream fraiche to make a really beautiful round special experience quite exp...
