"Fish Face is our favourite local chippy but today has certainly changed that. Understandable we came 40minutes before closing but we were made to feel rushed as staff stood and hung around our table, as well as cleaning the floors with what must have been a full bottle of bleach. I understand end of day in restaurant having worked in food and retail however to do so while customers are still eating is not okay, especially since there was a toddler present who was distressed at the smell. The staff had binned our order and so our food arrived 5 minutes before closing, I only know this as staff were speaking out in the open front of house area that our order hadn’t gone through. To make it worse we were overcharged significantly by £7, which is a lot considering. This used to be our favourite place and I’m sad that we will no longer be able to come for our usual chippy tea due to the disgraceful and unprofessional behaviour in the restaurant today."

We stopped by this restaurant while passing through and were pleasantly surprised. The service was fantastic, the staff were friendly, and the food was delicious. Highly recommended.

updated review.. prices much increased since last visit and portion sizes also reduced, I think its what's called geed-flation and shrink-flation. Dont mind either as long as not excessive but NOT BOTH!!!

(collection for tea at home) Batter was burnt so the fish was dry and shrunken. Chips were undercooked and white with half the carton looking like toenails and a portion fit for a 2 year old child. Gravy was like engine oil. Went in the bin and will never go back.

We were greeted politely and shown to our table. We ordered two pensioner specials, cod and chips with tea bread and butter for £8.45 each which I thought was very reasonable. The fish and chips were cooked to perfection and the quantity exceeded what we expected. There was enough tea for two cups each. Highly recommended. View menu

Theres only one place to go if you want the best fish and chips. The fish was nice and thick and cooked to perfection, the chips were of a good size too and also cooked to perfection Fantastic batter on the fish. I can't recommend this restaurant enough and finally the staff were brilliant and really friendly. 5 stars from me.

Sixteen of us prebooked a table to dine at the restaurant on December 27th, and the table was already set up for us upon arrival. The staff were incredibly friendly and provided table service due to our large group. The food was freshly cooked and cooked perfectly. I highly recommend dining in at this restaurant or getting takeout from here.

We are regular visitors due to fish chips hard to beat in a nice welcoming restaurant. We had both the regular cod and exceptional succulent sole, beautifully cooked with light crispy batter. The chips were also just right. The only downside is they still do not have zero beer which we always enjoy at almost every other restaurants now. Perfect otherwise. View menu

The Sole at this restaurant is absolutely delicious and just melts in your mouth. The fish here is always consistently good, but it's disappointing that they don't offer zero-alcohol beer like their competitors do. It's a shame because sales of zero-alcohol beer are on the rise, as many customers are looking for it. It would be great to see them support the "don't drink and drive" initiative. Unfortunately, we'll have to go elsewhere more often until they make that change.

Portion Size Anaemic Chips, £12.95 for large cod and chips, usual price, but the portion size was more like a regular. The chips were Anaemic, and we hate those mini fryer baskets, 12 chips! Wish we had gone to our regular Seaton Carew chippy, but thought it would be nice to sit in. Our local resteraunt does large portion with bread and butter and pot of tea for the same price with peas too! Staff very nice and resteraunt nice, but they need to look at the competition for value for money,

"Unfortunately you can't prebook at this restaurant for groups smaller than persons. So my friends and I arrived just after on a busy friday night and were told there was around a minute wait for a table. We were expecting this...so we went to Wallis and Co for a couple of tasty for cocktails while we waited. hour and minutes later and we still hadn't been called! so went back to the restaurant and again waited to speak to the staff. Apparently they were just about to call us and so we were seated straight away. The staff were all very busy, but we did struggle to flag someone down to place our order and then to ask for more drinks etc. The food arrived quickly though once ordered and I was very impressed with both the quality and quantity of the food! We had ordered dishes each and then a couple more to share between which equals a huge meal! Everything was well cooked and served hot to our table, and everything was delicious. I would definitely return for the food, but just try to choose a less busy night. I love sangria! and was very excited that Casa served it so ordered a full pitcher to myself! Unfortunately it wasn't very good at all and I could only manage to drink about half of it. My friends enjoyed the cocktails though. Bread is brought to the table, which was great to nibble on while we waited for the food as we were all starving at this point! as it was around before we finally ate. The meal was good value at around each, including drinks and around tapas each. I paid more as obviously had a whole pitcher to myself! Pitchers are around each. Colourful jelly beans are brought out with bill. Afterwards we went to The Fuschia Lounge for some amazing Halloween themed cocktails! :"

"We were staying locally so decided to try here as the reviews were good. First impressions , the two young boys serving seemed inexperienced and out of their depth. Got a table, ordered drinks, which took a little while to come. Table next to us who came after us got theirs first. A lady who seemed in charge was directing the boys in the most basic of tasks. One of them came to clean down the table next to us and the cleaning solution was lemon, very strong, almost choked on it. Note to owner, tone down to something more neutral. So our order was taken by the lady in charge and the combo platter we chose, which we ordered by number, was served and it was the wrong combo platter. I couldn’t be bothered to argue so just ate it, it was actually very nice, but I’m glad I’m not a vegetarian, as it was all meat, I’d ordered the vegetarian platter. We both had chicken dishes, my husband’s stir fry was a bit spicier than he liked, but not a complaint. Just the wrong choice for him, my Massaman curry was very tasty, a couple of chewy bits in the chicken, but otherwise ok. I ordered a second glass of Pino Grigio, but it took a while to come, the young boy I ordered from came and asked if I’d like a drink, I said yes the one I ordered and haven’t got yet! It was poured and I could see it was yellow, like cloudy lemonade. The Thai lady tipped it out and I got a new one, but it was warm, so served with a side of ice. So, would I come here again? Probably not. Lots of takeouts being picked up, seems popular, but nothing special in my opinion."
