During our recent stay at Waterloo Station, my girlfriend and I developed a craving for some fish and chips. We had heard about a pub nearby that served food until after midnight, but after waiting for about thirty minutes, we found it was fully booked. So, we decided to go to Fishcoteque instead.

I was really looking forward to some amazing chips, and they did not disappoint. There's plenty of seating available for a full fish dinner, and the place is always bustling, which is a great sign. This spot can't be beat! Regardless, make sure to enjoy your meal. Plus, it's only a 10-minute walk from the Houses of Parliament, making it a perfect stop for anyone visiting London for sightseeing.

Although it is quite small and not that popular, Fishcotheque is quite good for fish chips. Situated 3 min away from waterloo tube station, the fast food restaurant is a great place for British food. It is quite cheap as well since you can pay around £20 for two people. What I like about the place is that it is quite cosy and comfortable for dining-in, but you can also have takeaways. I have tried the fish chips and it was one of the best ones in London. The ambience is far from pretentious, more of a fast food place than a restaurant but it is worth trying for first makers. ...we went for fish and chips at Fishcotheque which occupied a highly unassuming place on Waterloo Road. I must've walked past it quite a few times and would still have ignored it if I hadn't been recommended to give it a try. Entering, I liked how the interior was a throwback to the fish and chips shops of yesteryear with the out of date decor and the advertisements from a bygone age. This restaurant is a classic fish and chips spot. If you're in search of anything other than that, you might leave feeling disappointed. While they do offer burgers and egg dishes, they aren't particularly noteworthy. However, they have a solid selection of fish options, including cod, haddock, and sea bass. First night in Waterloo, I was tired from all the traveling from Manchester. This place was the first thing that caught my eye as soon as I stepped out of the Waterloo Station, so I told myself I would check it out after I settle my things at the hotel. The place is quite small, yes, however, once you step in, the décor in this small eatery will seem more inviting than the size. Vintage metal frames and plaques on the walls, vintage covers on the latest music, and a very simple menu.
