"The Boatyard is under new ownership now. The pub has been redecorated and it looks very cosy downstairs with new fireplace and armchairs around it. The waitress was outstanding, and the food was exactly what I was looking for. I had American pie, chips with garlic sauce and oregano. My daughter had a Hamburger with salad. We were so pleased with the service. We were very impressed with the quality of the food and beverage we received. Pub also has a conservatory and a beer garden by the Water of Girvan which is open on a nice day. If you are passing by this beautiful town in Scotland, make sure that you have a drink and food here. I can highly recommend The Boatyard."

The food was delicious, but the service was subpar. They forgot to bring bread for the soup and we had to ask for more utensils. The worst part was the workers swearing and screaming in the kitchen. We had a 3-year-old with us, so it was not a pleasant experience.

I stopped by this restaurant on my way home from the ferry port without planning to. I was pleasantly surprised by the welcoming staff and excellent food. I will definitely stop by again. The price per person is between £10-£20. The food and service both scored a 5, while the atmosphere was a 4. I recommend trying the Burger and Chips dish. View menu

We initially stopped by for a drink but ended up staying for dinner after seeing the delicious food. The aroma was enticing and the flavors were excellent. The pizzas were generously sized and the staff was very accommodating, making adjustments to accommodate a member of our party with a gluten intolerance. We were all impressed by their attention to detail in ensuring the safety of our meal for our friend with dietary restrictions. The staff cooked the gluten free pizza in a separate tray and took precautions to prevent any contact with gluten. We were able to enjoy our meal without any worries, thanks to their care and consideration.

"My wife and i visited Girvan and gave the Auld Aquaintance Cafe a try We were not disappointed. The Cafe is managed by the husband and wife team Prenil and Delphina Prenil is the chef and Delphina manages the cafe. They both made us feel extremely welcome and Prenil allowed us complete freedom to dictate our own taste choices and explored with us our food likes. Prenil can make virtually any dish to order rightly called food fusion) and loves a challenge but on this occasion we opted for Indian food and a house special Chicken Kashmiri and a Prenil customised Korma. We also ordered chicken Pakora and Onion Bhajis as starters. Each dish came piping hot directly from the kitchen as soon as it was ready to eat. Each and every dish was a delight , the Pakora was extremely succulent and the dips were delicious as were the Bhajis. The main courses each included the curry dish, rice, a hand made fresh flat bread and a Poppodom the food was specialised and subtly different in taste from standard curries , you could literally taste a multitude of different flavours. If you are in Girvan then don't be put off by the cafe decor , its all about the food and it is well worth the visit we don't think you will be disappointed and very reasonable prices for speciality food. If you have dietary requirements then they can usually accommodate most my wife is gluten intolerant and had no issues However if possible phone ahead and they will proactively respond to your specific needs."
