Gallo Romano - Menu

The food is simple, but just really well cooked. It's very authentic Italian food, cooked exceptionally well. Brilliant flavours and friendly service. Definitely recommend for families.

It doesn’t taste like good Italian food at all. Everything is like frozen food with no cuisine skills, especially the lasagna, definitely just kept in freezer before serving. Don’t come here if you are looking for good food. Also, unlike typical Italian food, serving size is very small.

We were in Paris for the Tour De France and had an exceptionally good meal here.We ate a couple of specials from their daily chalkboard menu, and they also made up another special dish to accommodate the vegetarian in our party.The service was great and the food was yummy, the closest to an authentic Italian restaurant that we found in Paris. Would definitely return.

My husband and I have dined here a number of times over the past several years. The owners welcome us as though were.long lost friends. The food is delicious simple Italian fare but it is above all a French restaurant One must observe and respect French customs and sensibilitirs. You do not walk in a peruse the menu any more than you would walk into someone's home and go through their cupboard. Please greet Tao, the aging beagle. I dread the visit when he has gone to doggy heaven.

We've now visited Gallo Romano on several occasions in the past year or so. As others have mentioned, the first time we were drawn to the beagle-greeter at the door. The restaurant is slightly quirky; has a very retro vibe with all the old Italian movie posters on the walls. The menu is limited but the offerings are all well-prepared. Service can be slow...would also suggest that the mozzarella for the Caprese salad be brought to room temperature...it was very, very cold. Pastas are cooked perfectly and the sauces (sampled 4 of them over time) are lovely and authentic. An excellent wine list. Overall, a lovely place to wander into.

C'est la première fois qu'on me traite de manière aussi détestable dans un restaurant.Mes deux amis voulaient déjeuner et nous avons choisi ce resto au hasard. Comme j'avais déjà mangé, j'ai commandé une glace. La serveuse (ou patronne, je ne sais pas) m'a très sèchement lancé : "Ah vous ne mangez pas ? C'est une bonne nouvelle !" avant de faire preuve d'une attitude détestable tout le reste du repas.Au vu des prix exorbitants, la nourriture proposée est tout simplement injustifiable. C'est mangeable si on a vraiment faim. Il est tout de même difficile de rater des pâtes...Bref, le piège à touriste de base à deux pas de Notre-Dame. Passez votre chemin.

My wife and I sat down outside and waited for service. And waited. I went to the door and was studiously ignored by the waiter and a woman sitting at the back. There were four customers in the restaurant and two others sitting outside so maybe they were too busy. I went back and managed to get the attention of the woman. A few minutes later she came out and angrily scolded me loudly and at length could I not see that she was busy! We left. maybe the food is great but we will never know. I have never ever been told off for trying to get served. We were not rude, basically we had no opportunity to say anything. This was much worse than the usual Parisian waiter's contempt for their customers.

Na een geslaagd diner aan de overkant dachten we dat Gallo Romano ook een goede keuze ging zijn. We zijn fan van de Italiaanse keuken. Mijn man bestelde de Tagliata, duurste gerecht van de kaart, ik een linguine met gambas. Na meer dan een uur pas kwam men vragen welke bereidingswijze hij verkoos voor het vlees . Dat deed een belletje rinkelen. Nog een half uur later ging ik binnen vragen waarom alles zo lang duurde. Er werd me toen pas gezegd dat er problemen waren in de keuken. Kan altijd gebeuren, maar dan communiceer je daarover zodat klanten weten wat hen te wachten staat. Ik veranderde mijn keuze van gerecht omdat de wachttijd dan minder zou zijn, mijn man en ik hadden ondertussen grot...
