"We ate here twice this trip and were here once before. We really love this restaurant. If you want to eat like a local, eat here. Grunauer is only open during the week and even then reservations are highly encouraged to avoid disappointment. I think...it is also a cash only restaurant. The owner and the waiter speak perfect English. The menu is traditional local fare and changes daily. The menu is hand written, and sometimes hard to read. No matter. Whatever you order, it will be what is found in an authentic Viennese restaurant that the locals love. I had the roast beef dish one night and the Bat Wiener Schnitzel (a better cut of veal) another evening. We also had a wine grape sorbet for dessert. All very delicious. You cannot go wrong by eating at Grunauer's. We love the place."

An excellent place to try authentic Viennese cuisine. The fact that they didn't even both to translate the menu and that you hear mainly German around you, tells you something about the authenticity of the establishment. Turns out the Viennese food is not only...Schnitzel... For example, we had liver in mushroom sauce, and venison with potato croquets. Delicious!
