"I had read about this place serving a special Argentine style ice cream and we walked from around the Prado to check it out. Nice sidewalk tables, lots of great flavors, good price, but I didn't get the difference between it and other local gelato shops we have eaten at. It was quite the walk (maps gave us a bad location) and so we were a little disappointed, but if you are already in the area highly recommend."

There's lots of competition, so I'd say if you are near this location, try it. With so many other ice cream/gelato throughout the city, mostly exceptional quality, it's a location issue.

Read about Giangrossi helado artesanal in Rick Steves. More than an ice cream parlor, serves fancy I cream desserts, pastries and drinks. We loved the after eight (mint with chocolate chips) and the chocolate cookie- very smooth chocolate taste. Great dessert after tapas.
