"My husband and I frequent this cafe often, but after the last couple of visits we are having second thoughts on returning. For the last 2 times we have been in, the male waiter/barista has the most unwelcome attitude ever, he rather be chatting with the chefs than doing a proactive job, which in my experience, since I worked my way up from waiter to manager, is not rocket science, just need to have a bit of input. This guy is always dragging his feet and does little to nothing which has been noticed in more than the last 2 visits we had, and today just took the cake. The sign by the entrance had a 30 minute wait for food, with only 3 tables sat at the time, we got pointed to the lovely conservatory but all the vacant tables were dirty. We sat in front of the counter and after 10 minutes (I clocked in the time when we arrived and departed) no one came to even offer us a drink, while another lady was pacing around. We used to love coming here and I am not entirely sure I would like to come back to that kind of service, which now we know is not an isolated incident, for the looks another people have decided to speak out and I really hope this gets sorted soon or we would take our custom somewhere else."

Nice setting for the cafe, but the waitress who ‘greeted’ us was very standoffish, and seemed irritated we had dared to even enter. Not welcoming at all, food and coffee was nice enough but would rather spend money somewhere that doesn’t make me feel like an inconvenience!

Called in for tea and a scone on the way to Goodnestone Park. Ordered tea coffee and cheese scone and fruit scone. After order taken waitress came back to say only got plain scones left ! We opted for two toasted teacakes. Served burnt! Female member on pay desk needs customer service training, most unwelcoming. Overpriced and poor service. Would not go again.

I came for lunch the other day and it was excellent, I had a ploughman’s. I returned today for a cup of tea and a warm cheese scone with chutney. However, the scone was obviously warmed in the microwave, making it soggy and too hot in the middle, and there was no chutney. It was a disappointing experience considering I had high hopes. Oh well, I will be going back to Tadpole cafe next week. View menu

I recently had a bacon sandwich at this restaurant, and it was very mediocre. Even my own attempts at making a bacon sandwich while hungover have been better. Additionally, my partner's toast was completely burnt. The prices were high considering the quality of the food, and the service was slow. Although the conservatory was nice, it would take a lot more than just a well-lit dining room to convince us to come back.

I have visited this café before and have always been satisfied with the food and drinks. This time, I ordered a pot of tea for one at £2.75, expecting to receive a cup and a half. However, the cup was actually larger than the small teapot. When I asked the waitress for a refill, she informed me that I could have a top up of hot water instead of another teabag, to which I agreed. Unfortunately, I never received the promised refill, which was disappointing.

I ordered the club sandwhich which sat on the hot plate for a good 15 minutes so when it came out the lettuce was wiltered and the crisps were hot. The man working out front was dragging his feet and just had no customer service this was on the 21.04.24 the chef kept ringing the bell to take the food which the male waitress ignored and continued to serve more people at this point the hotplate was completely full. He made it very clear he would of rather of been anywhere but there. I don't think age is an excuse as I worked in many cafes when I was younger and would of not behaved with such a bad attitude. These days going out for food is a treat and the customer service and food was extremel... View menu

I had an impromptu visit yesterday (23/03/24) to this lovely cafe with some good friends. We arrived around 14:30. We were seated in the conservatory area, which was light bright, looking out onto a small orchard area. A clear menu presented to each of us. Lots of nice meals available with a Pie of the day, and a Soup of the day. The cafe uses locally sourced produce… some of which can be purchased onsite in the Farm Shop. Our friends had visited before and recommended the cakes, which are huge slices they’d had the Chocolate cake recently, which was moist and light. However we chose to have a main meal each. We didn’t have room for cake on this occasion. Service was really good, all meals a...

2 out of 5. When for breakfast this morning with my partner Waitress was rude/abbrupt. Hazelnut latte was nice. I had a sausage and egg roll, the sausage was precooked and sat on the counter which we could see when we were queuing to pay and then zapped to hell in the microwave I don’t know how you can have an over cooked sausage and it be that greasy. As they are a farm shop I would have thought they would take more care with their own produce. Partner had the turbo full English, which was not worth the price as it wasn’t much bigger than a normal full english, his Sausage and bacon was cooked the same as my sausage. We didn’t complain because the staff looked abit miserable apart from the...
