"Visited for Mother's Day Sunday lunch. ate in the bar as we had our dog with us, so is a perfect solution for us, while others were eaten without dogs in the beautiful recently completely renovated dining room. eating was excellent and between us. we tried to start eating, all desserts equally well. good selection of local masham produced cask beer and yesterday turned hahn, which was a barrel from wensleydale brewery just on the road. can't be really guilty."

This was first family gathering since March; everything was a safe as possible. The food was the highlight. All delicious and hot. Very substantial portions so no one could manage three courses despite desserts looking interesting. View menu

Had an excellent evening pub meal at the Greyhound. First meal out for a few months! Good food (steak and ale pie excellent) and a warm welcome. Also found that they deliver take-always locally. Catering for the rest of the holiday sorted!

We were staying local booked this place in advance Steve was in touch to keep us up to date. We had a drink outside prior while waiting for our food to come we then enjoyed hearty home cooked pub grub. Really enjoyed...it, Steve was a really good host it was great value. If local again we'll pop in. Thanks again

Takeaway service. Tonight had Szechuan Beef Noodles “extra spicy” plus Venison Casserole with mash veg. Both absolutely superb could not be faulted. This pub just gets better and despite Covid this place will be one of those to survive prosper as it’s simply...too good not to. Try it folks you can then see for yourselves. View menu

We visited The Greyhound Inn during our stay in Yorkshire. We had an enjoyable evening with amazing pub grub. Highly recommended is the steak and ale pie. The service was excellent and Harry (I think that was his name) is a true credit. Nothing was...too much trouble and was very polite. Will definitely be back if in the area. Thank you.

We stayed here and enjoyed meals on two evenings, once in the bar area and then in the main restaurant. We phoned in first for a late meal and the staff kindly kept us a delicious pie meal and on the second occasion we relaxed...with Sirloin steaks and all the trimmings. Very efficient staff and well cooked food with decent portions. A good menu and range of drinks with a warm atmopshere of locals enjoying a night out.

"We arrived here for a 2 night stay for a wedding (Fri sat night). PROS: Lynsey the manageress she 100% makes it so fabulous. Lovely, welcoming, looked after us brilliantly. Due to some staff shortages, she was doing what seemed like 10 jobs at once! We ate on one of the nights food was delicious! Great service tasty food. Breakfast was also spot on set us up brilliantly for the day ahead on the Saturday! The Willow room which we stayed in was fab ideal size, lovely cosy too! The whole 2 night stay was extremely reasonably priced the place itself has a great feel about it like a big cosy house! CONS: If you like total darkness, take an eye mask for sleeping as the rooms can get really bright from the early hours. Also, depending on the room, it’s on quite a busy road so can be quite nosy it would be worth having earplugs if you like a quiet surrounding. Due to staffing, the bar doesn’t stay open that late, so be mindful of this, they will however put drinks in your room if you can’t make it back in time for the bar closing. Taxis there are no local taxis, so arranging transport to the wedding we were attending was a nightmare which we didn’t account for! Luckily after 6 different phone calls, we managed to get sorted. The only gripe I had was the confusion over the bill if you decide to charge things to your room, the bills aren’t itemised so it’s difficult to keep track of what has been charged. There was some confusion on checkout over what we should shouldn’t have been charged for, so definitely choose to pay for any extras outright to avoid any confusion or uncertainty before check out. Other than that, it was one of the nicest, most personal stays we’ve had out in a long long time. This was mainly down to the Manageress Lynsey who is fabulous at her job really does make it feel like home makes you feel super welcomed relaxed. Thank you lynsey for really making a stay a one to remember."
