"I definitely felt the need to write a review for my stay at Gunmakers, since there are so few that actually reference the lodging provided (most just focused on the pub side of the business). I stayed here on two different instances in September 2023, before heading up north to hike Hadrian's Wall, and again upon my return to London, before flying back home. Overall, both stays were very nice. I stayed in the same room both times, on the top floor. While the views out the window weren't anything special, the room overall was quite comfortable. For meals, if you choose to eat at Gunmakers, you can either go down to the pub or you can call down to place an order and they'll deliver it to your room. The location was perfect, on a quiet side street and well priced for being in Marylebone. There are a couple rail stations that are with easy walking distance. Otherwise, several of the city's landmarks are within easy walking distance, if you're not in a rush, including The British Museum, Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and the London Eye. The only thing that was a bit awkward was going to bar and explaining you're there to check in for lodging and not there for food/drink, especially if it's during a busy time for the pub. It might be worth looking into an alternative way to handle this side of the business, but still, it was overall a fairly easy process. Checking out was much smoother all you need to do is drop your room key in a dropbox as you're leaving the building. Overall, I would certainly stay here again the next time I'm in London."

great pub hidden behind the hectic of the high road. right next to the NCP parking lot there is plenty of free space, as it is located on a residential road, where you can relax with your pint directly on a road that almost never has a traffic

We stopped by this restaurant for a drink before heading to Chiltern Firehouse Restaurant nearby. The staff greeted us warmly. It was not very busy on a Sunday afternoon, but there were a few other customers. We noticed the Sunday roast being served and it looked very appetizing.

Traditional pub, with beautiful, quiet guest rooms above, in the heart of Marylebone village. Fantastic friendly staff who know how to make you feel welcome. If you want something a bit different to the usual impersonal London hotel, in a fantastic location, the Gunmakers is perfect. Good quality bar meals are also served. If you happen to be there on a Sunday morning, there is a superb farmers market literally just outside. Would highly recommend this little gem in the heart of London.

I went to this restaurant for a quick meal and ordered pan-fried fish and chips (requested them to be pan-fried instead of battered and fried) and a chicken burger. The food was really delicious and delivered quickly within 15-20 minutes. The homemade tartare sauce with the fish and the smoked cheese on the burger were exceptional. I will definitely be returning. The new chef's attention to accommodating details made the meal even more enjoyable. Overall, the food was excellent and really made my evening. View menu

We recently stayed at the Gunmakers for a weekend and it’s safe to say we will definitely be back ! A lovely little pub in a great location, near Oxford street shops and attractions within short walking distance which was ideal for us. We arrived early and were greeted by a very nice staff member who stored our luggage until our room was ready, whilst we were gone for the day. Our room was very clean and even when the pub was busy was nice and quiet. We had lunch the next day which was nice the steak sandwich in particular All the staff are very friendly and pleasant and even when busy very attentive . Although we didn’t bring ours this time the 10% doggy discount Is a great idea Overall gre...

So, this is a place for a burger that I cannot recommend enough! Popped in for a drink and discovered a culinary miracle, and the most thoughtful and accommodating service being offered. After chatting to Nick the chef about vegetarian burgers. We were convinced to stay and sample their menu. There were three of us and each one of us ordered a burger, which included a beef, chicken and a specially made vegetarian one. All three of these burgers were absolutely tremendous. A good burger should be flavoursome, chunky, packed with all those wonderful accompaniments and served with fries, that compliment the succulence within your bun. On every point, Nick offers a beautifully presented feast, p...

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
