Wonderful place. Innovative and chic and simply delicious food. Wine list limited but some nice things from some of the best German producers.

Enjoyed a business dinner with people. All of us opting for a set dinner menu with wine pairing we were left totally satisfied. The quality of food and service was amazing. Not cheap but highly recommended.

I had the best vegetarian meal I have ever had. The grilled carrot and beans salad were just so perfectly cooked with perfect combinations. It's worth every penny and the staff is super friendly and helpful. View menu

An elegant venue both indoors and outdoors, An excellent and attentive service, interesting and innovative cuisine, good and varied wine list but EXTREMELY LIMITED MENU. A shame as this would restrict the number of my visits

Ein unvergesslich schöner Abend in einem sehr schönen Ambiente, Das Menu war ebenso perfekt wie die wunderschön erläuterte Weinbegleitung und der unaufdringliche Service während des gesamten Abends. German Michelin starred urban restaurant, you might think: sure they will use fresh local products, they'll certainly be fond of beetroots and onions and the wine list will be made of nice foreign wines and low-sugar champagnes. And you would be right. But it is hard to apprehend Gustav's cuisine only by tasting the individual, and otherwise delicious meals you are presented with in the beginning of the dinner. With some rather high serving pace, each dish is simply overwhelmingly tasteful. And then there was some perfectly cooked leek with ground nuts and burnt cream, and everything about this place suddenly made sense. The cuisine is warm, precise and honest, and it is purposeful. One of my favourite restaurants; delighted that it has been awarded a star by the Guide Michelin Deutschland in I love its unpretentious art, nothing stiff or awkwardly formal but rather you get the feeling that everything has been chosen to please the senses...and delight the mind. The chef's aim is to reinvent traditional food, maintaining the regional character and using seasonal ingredients but combining them in unexpected and sensual new ways. The bread, for instance, arrives at the table in the form of individual small loaves for each guest. Still warm from the oven. For a risk-adverse and relatively conservative restaurant town like Frankuft, GUSTAV is daring, avante-garde, even a bit difficult. Styled like a modern bistro with a relaxed, informal service team, the average diner does not realize how serious and solitary an experiment they are about to...experience in all its plenitude. Jochim Busch places in front of you plates laid out like a dense forest, every ingredient clinging to every other ingredient. On all sides of his plates you sense the pull of some inert natural form, tugging at the sides, like an abstract expressionist painting with deep contrasts and a complex structure.
