"On arriving at Grovefield House the grounds are a welcome site and you do feel it is going to be a great experience. The Staff whp served us our welcome drink were pleasant but not very generous with measures and half a glass if that...were poured into short wine glasses. The food was then ready to be delivered to the tables. The first course I had was the Leek and Potato soup which was pleasant but I have had better or the same out of a tin. Others around me had the Pate on Toast which was adequate but the toast that was served was so small it was not enough to use the Pate. The fish starter was so small it was nearly not visible so not recommended for the hearty eater. Then came the Main, I had chosen the vegetarian which was inadequately small, bland and not appetising at all. It arrived with pea sized potatoes around the outside and a sprig of rocket. The Chicken main was a little bigger as was the Salmon main but nobody was impressed and were all very disappointed. After the disaster of the first courses we all waited for the Sweet. Unfortunately the majority had gone for the Brule it arrived in a very small ramekin with a sweet basket and Yes rasberries. The Brule was a total disaster, the topping was totally made up of Salt it was a very big disappointment and in fact unpalatable. Complaints were coming from all directions they did replace it with a sorbet but was not even enough to cover the bowl. The tart however was commented on to be pleasant. All in all I would not recommend as this was Overpriced, Unpleasant and a real disappointment. I would not recommend and to be honest you would find a much cheaper pleasant place to eat and party just down the road so Sorry Grovefield House you have lost my vote."

Didn’t intend to eat in the Hotel Restaurant on our arrival but so pleased that we did. The pork belly and the chicken with tarragon were superb. Breakfast was equally good. Will certainly visit again.

The venue recommends letting the restaurant know any dietary problems ahead of time and having followed their advise we were not disappointed with their attention to detail and the choice of food. The cost was reasonable given the venue.

Happy Birthday lunch was a winner here. My wife and our daughter's family were suitably impressed by the delicious food and the kind service with the grand children. The linen, cutlery and tableware were all spotless. No wonder we will be likely to return to...celebrate with more meals here.

What a wonderful evening to have an early Christmas treat. Food and service were very very good. Lovely venue, just that bit special. Prices were amazing value, table dressed with all kinds of fun things. Must also say they do a wonderful traditional afternoon tea,...also at a very reasonable price. Waiting staff very attentive and happy people

Received a buyagift voucher as part of a retirement present from my staff and one of the options was a course meal for including a bottle of wine at this restaurant were we had just booked nights to finish off a river...cruising holiday on the Rhone. We had the choice of the full a la carte menu and both my wife and I really enjoyed each of our courses. I had mussels to start with and a finger bowl and additional napkin were brought automatically (which doesn't always happen). The maitre d's wine suggestion was excellent.

An annual group supper' with friends started with drinks on the terrace, setting a stylish scene overlooking and surrounded by the beautiful Cliveden countryside. This number challenges a hotel's capabilities to deliver all those things we look for on a special night out. In...this case the preselected dishes were known to whom and where each individual was seated. The service under the direction of two maitre'ds resulted in a smooth delivery to all the tables, with no one kept waiting. What's even more important was the quality of the food which beat other experiences elsewhere. Tip a nice place to use, pre/post Heathrow, Windsor etc. And we can attest to the quality of their Afternoon Tea...

Booked a midweek lunch for my wife and myself at this restaurant in the Grovefield Hotel. We vaguely remembered visiting the hotel some years earlier. The decor was unchanged. We were shown into the restaurant which was empty and chose a table overlooking the gardens...which were well kept. The menu was limited (set menu only) coursed coursed We both started with the Salmon Roulade, my wife chose the Cod Loin for her main and I had the Duck. I ordered a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon but was served with Sauvignon Blanc this was duly replaced with the correct wine. Before the food arrived we thought we were in for a disappointment, but quel surprise' the food was excellent. Only towards the end...

I attended this restaurant today with my wife and a group of friends from our Sunday Walking group. We had booked a Xmas meal but had decided to celebrate it in January. We collected our drinks from the bar and entered the restaurant. Our group...table was laid out nicely in a festive style, with hats, festive serviettes, poppers, Xmas crackers, etc. Our starters arrived after a short wait. I had ordered the Butternut squash soup which was really quite good, topped with a tasty oil and some cream frais. Our main course of baked cod was a real let down however, it had been over cooked (or left on the pass far too long and so was dried out. It was edible but not enjoyable, which was a real pit...
