Very enjoyable and substantial authentic curry dishes. Pleasant friendly staff Good value quality meal

We have been dining at Hanney Spice for a number of years. It offers good value, delicious food, and excellent service from friendly staff.

Excellent food but the restaurant was extremely cold and completely spoilt the evening. One person already eating in their winter coat. Just not acceptable on any level. View menu

Service very good polite and respectful. Food is of a reasonable price and quite large portions. First visit here will defo return but may skip lunch so we don’t have so much to bring home

The food at this restaurant is terrible! I just picked up my takeaway and the place was empty, now I know why. The onion bhajis were small and burnt, the vegetable curry was overloaded with sweetcorn and carrots and way too sweet. I will not be returning for dine-in or takeout.

The food was lovely, the staff were not! There was one older waiter who was abrupt and dismissive. We had to wait ages just to get a drink- there were only 2 other tables. He wasn’t interested in being there, he stood at the bar reading the paper with a bar full of dirty glasses. We would have had another drink if we had been offered but we weren’t asked so that was £20-£30 just from one table if 6 they missed out on. I have to reiterate that the food was lovely, it was just one person who put a dampener on our evening View menu

We arrived with at least 50 minutes until closing time, just two of us. When we asked to order a started then when we decided our main we would order shortly , we were told no, you have to order both, our kitchen needs to know so we did, we then were sat eating and the lights went off for a few seconds then back on again. No apology, nothing said, then it happened again. We then asked if we could take what food we had left home with us, man gives us boxes for us to do ourselves!!! Wouldn 't have minded but again, nothing said, no pleasantries. Abominable service, will definatley not be going back.

Chicken tikka and cheese naan bread was tasteless, the chicken was not tikka it was plain with little or no seasoning. Undercooked raw, cold chips. Very small portion of rice which was cold (amazing to say we collected it). Kashmir curry is usually sweet, creamy and rich … the worst Kashmir I have had. The restaurant was very busy, 10 minute queuing to pay then 30 minute wait for meal. If you are busy and you cannot cater for people, rather than taking on too many orders and providing poor quality food, just tell people you are fully booked/don’t have capacity to cook more orders at this time. Such a shame as local and handy. Disappointed, waste of money.

The staff at this restaurant were extremely rude. I was not impressed and will not be returning. It took three requests for a glass of water for myself and my son after we ordered drinks. The water was finally placed on our table without a word. The food was bland and even the couple at the next table were complaining about their meal. When it came time to pay, the server abruptly tapped the card machine without saying please or thank you. After I paid, he said nothing, not even a thank you. I was angry and stared at him until he finally grumbled "ok." As we left, he didn't even say thank you. My 14-year-old son had better manners by thanking him.
