"We went with friends on a pre ordered festive menu lunch. The starters were lovely and nothing to complain about. Likewise the deserts were also very good. The turkey mains were not so good. the turkey was stone cold and there wasn't a great deal of variation on the plate. Some roast potatoes a few carrots and Brussels some stuffing a parsnip and a sausage with bacon wrapped around it and no Yorkshire. We felt for £29.99 for a festive me menu it wasn't great value and certainly didn't feel festive and we didn't even get a cracker to pull. We did tell them and they offered to heat it up but we didn't fancy pinged turkey."

We popped in for lunch and a drink. Friendly, welcoming staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. A small but interesting menu at reasonable prices. Efficient service and excellent food, perfectly cooked. Would recommend. View menu

Today two of us a bite to eat. My son had the children's meal, chicken Goujons and chips,he opted for a side salad with it. I had the Chilli Con Carne. All very tasty and very well presented. The new chef is really pulling the stops out.

Absolutely awful service! Bar lady was slagging off customers with the intention of them overhearing. Larger served in ale glasses. Wasn’t allowed food as they had bookings (the pub was dead). Wouldn’t recommend, get better service at raunds McDonald’s.

We thoroughly enjoyed a perfect Sunday roast in the Hare and Hound today. We both agreed it was the best cooked food including our starter dish, as well, pleased to know it it was twenty pounds for two courses, good value and excellent staff service. Thank you. View menu

Lovely serving staff. The food was all or mostly fron lidls. 35 for a three course meal was extortionate. It was ok.The time between all people being served their main course was 15 mins. Food got cold whilst waiting for our gravy. Desert was still frozen..The English mustard was out of date. But I am still alive. The upside was we didn't have to wash up.

Waited an hour on a Sunday afternoon and only received drinks, when we asked how long our starters would be, we were told the chef had walked out and someone should have told us, which they didn't, at which point we walked out too. We had a 2 year old with us so waiting around any longer wasn't an option. On the way out we were confronted by rude staff asking us why we weren't going to pay for our drinks, which I thought would have been quite obvious. Poor communication. Inexperienced staff. Can't comment on the food, but not worth a trip back to find out.

"Richard and I, en route from Cambridge to Shropshire, chanced upon this splendid cafe in Kettering, easily accessible from the A14. The cafe occupies a cosy space with a breakfast bar by the window, offering a lovely view of the local red-brick architecture, and a fine place from which to watch the colourful characters of Kettering passing by. Unlike some cafes, there was no 'greasy spoon ' smell, which was a boon. Instead a delightful and appetite-arousing aroma of freshly cooked bacon and eggs. Richard opted for the small breakfast, and had no trouble in swapping out his eggs and tomato for black pudding and mushrooms at no extra cost. I ordered the much-vaunted breakfast baguette. The food was cooked freshly and served quickly. Richard was impressed by the appearance of his plate, and more so by the delicious food which he consumed with gusto. Richard said the bacon was well cooked, the mushrooms were good, not too greasy, generally everything was well cooked, the only thing that could have been better was the sausage, which was fine but obviously a 'standard quality ' sausage . My breakfast baguette was fantastic, the crispy bread was marvellous and the generous filling was hot and tasty, and not at all greasy. All this, plus two steaming cups of flavoursome tea for the bargain price of £9.90. We both took the opportunity to use the facilities and we 're impressed with their cleanliness and the provision of Radox soap. On the whole a great find. We will certainly drop in again if we pass by on another adventure."
