Henry Wong - Menu

First meal inside for months and the food was outstanding.If there is a better Cantonese restaurant I have not been to it.If you have the chance to eat here you must take the opportunity up don't miss out.

We travelled here to meet family for a special meal. All the food was delicious. We had a set meal between us. Each course was hot and tasty and everyone enjoyed it. We also managed to fit in dessert so I'd recommend the red velvet...cheesecake as it was delicious and light. Nice attentive staff.

Having eaten at the restaurant many times I ordered a set meal for three on Saturday. The food was cold and inedible. Batter on the fish was soggy and pale, the prawns were soggy. All in all an expensive disaster. I have e'mailed the restaurant...and received no response which I feel tops it all really. I will not use again and would not recommend.

Henry Wong in Harborne has been on my list of restaurants to try for a long time; its reputation for delicious Chinese food and luxurious dining experience precedes it. Though I rarely venture into Harborne (as I live on the other side of the city and, frankly, I’m lazy) when I was invited to a VIP blogger night at Henry Wong, I jumped at the chance.

Henry Wong in Harborne has been on my list of restaurants to try for a long time. Known for their delicious Chinese cuisine and luxurious dining experience, I finally had the opportunity to dine there during a VIP blogger night. Despite rarely venturing into Harborne (as I live on the other side of the city and am admittedly a bit lazy), I couldn't pass up the chance to experience what Henry Wong had to offer.

I am a Londoner and travelled all the way to Birmingham to try out this restaurant that I have heard so much about! There was an extensive menu with lots of new dishes that other restaurants don't usually have; my personal favourite being the honey...pepper water chestnuts! Everything from the starters, mains and desserts were delicious and I thoroughly recommend coming here for authentic and flavoursome food. The staff were very attentive and lovely to speak too, and the overall dining experience was very pleasant! I will be returning again soon!

Went here for dinner with my partner after reading other reviews. Had high expectations. Ordered chicken yuk sung and spare ribs for starters. The yuk sung was really oily and luke warm, the portion for two was like a portion for one. The ribs had...been boiled and then fried making the meat tough. The king prawns for main were rubbery and again small portion. This is not a cheap place with main dishes between and For that price you would expect better quality and better portion size. Better food at your local chinese takeaway for fraction of the price.

I am writing to share my experience at Henry Wong's restaurant, which unfortunately may be my first and last visit. Yesterday evening, my partner and I had a meal that we had hoped would be reminiscent of a special Cantonese meal we had enjoyed 25 years ago when we were newlyweds. While the food at Henry Wong's was delicious, the overall experience was marred from the beginning. We had made a reservation weeks in advance and arrived promptly 5-10 minutes before our scheduled time of 8:30pm. However, upon arrival, we were greeted with indifference and a lack of hospitality. The food is pretty good, but not the best Chinese food i have tasted. I would happily give this place if it wasn’t for the extortionate prices. I am not one for complaining about the cost in restaurants, i do my research, i know...where i am going and how much its going to cost but you expect the quality and service to match it. Its an average Chinese restaurant, with average to good food (like like a local takeaway), average service, with extortionate prices. For example for a yuk sung, less quantity and the same quality as my average takeaway. for x Satay skewers yes they were nice, but no better than the local Chinese. Salt Pepper chips I am not sure why the prices are so high, i cant get...
