"In September 2011 we visited the old Hermannshöhe in Travemünder Ortsteil Brodten, the gastronomic supply was limited to 2 mobile sales booths, the former restaurant building had just been demolished, the demolition company had still to do with the removal of the rubbish. What should probably become mere from this beautiful viewpoint above the Baltic Sea? A year later, again September. We hardly believed to trust our eyes: At the same time there is a beautifully adapted single-storey construction, in wood construction, in colour in strong red with white, a generous window front towards the sea. The building is completed with plenty of outdoor seating and an adjacent children's playground. The equivalent that is suitable for all-weather is once again at the end of the restaurant inside and covered. A small area at the eastern end of the ensemble is a souvenir shop. Here you get things that no one really needs, but they like to be bought by tourists as a souvenir. The guest room itself is very large and spacious, even with a larger clientele, it is not so fast. The space is also needed because the supply concept is designed for self-service. In addition to seating on the huge window front, there are more on the wall side. In the middle of the room you can easily reach food outlets and beverage bars from all sides. The range ranges from simple snacks to complete dishes, cakes and cakes are available in plenty of choices, including the range of tea and coffee specialties, soft drinks, aperitivs, beers, wine and sparkling wine. The wished, tray worn to checkout, paid and already you can choose a place. In beautiful weather, of course outside, an extensive outdoor seat offers numerous places, well shaded by large parasols. The view over the Lübeck bay remains of course great and unadjusted. There is a star trigger because from our point of view the price-performance ratio is unequal. For (of 0.33 l converted) one liter of beer you pay more than on the Oktoberfest in Munich, more drinks and the dishes are also not at the bargain price. It is quite understandable, because the certainly high investment must be profitable, even though it is open all year round, only the summer season is available for the right sales. Nevertheless, the price level should be somewhat more moderate. This is where not only the Timmendorfer or Sylter income millionaires, but rather numerous holidaymakers equipped with finances on average. Second criticism is the paid parking lot, especially as it becomes a mud area in rainy weather. Here, besides the restaurant prices, you shouldn't get a drink. Or at least to the restaurant guests calculate the parking rate with the consumption price. In Lübeck's city centre, this goes in many shops. Small criticisms that do not prevent us from revising this magnificent viewpoint at any time. And then, of course, also in the Hermannshöhe."
All prices are estimates.
