"My husband booked this idyllic cottage for our Valentine 's meal. We were made immediately welcome and offered drinks in the cosy bar. I met the resident dog and although I don 't usually 'do ' dogs he was absolutely adorable. The menu was a little limited with four mains, one meat, one chicken, one fish and one vegetarian option, however all sounded equally as tempting.Service was exceptional, we were served quickly and efficiently by the owners, who were very attentive and yet not overly obtrusive. We were seated in the restaurant, by a window which overlooked the floodlit gardens. Our table was decorated with red flowers and candlelit which I thought was nice. We were the only people in the restaurant, which made it feel like my husband had booked the whole place especially for me. However, it was hard to understand why this was so, given the quality of the venue and the food.Starters were excellent, the main was very good, with the best carrots I have every tasted (apparently simply glazed in butter). Only minor gripe would be that the desserts were not quite up to the same standard as the other two courses, but this in no way detracted from what was a very special meal.Prices were about what you would expect for a special occasion, but not something you would perhaps choose to pay everyday. All in all I would thoroughly recommend the restaurant and would quite happily return. The owners were keen to let us know that they serve Pimms on the lawn in the summer and this sounds very tempting. My advice is to give this a go, make an evening of it and enjoy both the hospitality of the owners, the overall excellent cuisine and the intimate atmosphere. Enjoy!"

Good location but apparently in transition as no breakfast available as no chef! We wanted a view but got the car park view! Lovely room and reception were very helpful

Lovely cottage feel, nice cozy bedroom and and got a room with a garden view which was big and lovely. However, 3 stars because I could feel springs through the mattress and when you're paying £80 you expect better.

Stayed here for 1 night....it is very overpriced for a very small room with no breakfast. Breakfast was an extra £12.50 and had been warmed up in the microwave. At the bar I ordered a Bulmer cider and thought it didn't taste right....when I looked it was 6 months out of date. I wouldn't stay here again...not worth £130.00 with no breakfast.

We got married at Holdfast Cottage on 30th August. Steve and Julie and their team are amazing. We could not have asked for a better day. Nothing was to much to ask. They were attentive to all aspects of our needs and wants. I am so pleased that we found such a friendly group of people to look after us. The food that served was perfect to what we had asked for as the Bride has a gluten intolerance. I have to say a big thanks to Andy the head chef. You guys made our day so special. I can't give the Holdfast Cottage enough stars. I hope anyone who goes here will love it as much as we do. The rooms we and our guests stayed in were well decorated and clean and fresh. I hope you will go here as gu...

We were a little apprehensive to learn that one of our favourite places for a special occasion had changed hands, but a visit before Christmas reassured us that the things that attracted us before are still there.Holdfast Cottage is a gem, a country cottage of character away from it all. In the summer, the wisteria above the patio is a fantastic sight. It is a homely and comfortable place. The dining rooms are set so that you are not overcrowded, rather intimate instead a feeling of being in someone's house, rather than a hotel or restaurant. The food was great wonderful classic dishes, well presented and very tasty.Stephen Julie Thompson told us that they intend to maintain the quality of the...

So glad that we found this charming hotel for our one night stopover during a road trip. We now wish that we could have stayed for longer. Julie, Steven and Wilma are all lovely! Wilma greeted me with some tickly toe licking (but then she is a 2yr old black retriever! Simple cottage bedroom, comfortable bed and good ensuite, catered for all of our needs. We decided to stay in for our evening meal rather than navigating the twisting lanes of the Malvern Hills in a classic car, with no SatNav, in the dark, and we were rewarded with a delicious 3 course meal (soup for him, pate for her, followed by 2 gorgeous portions of slow roast lamb, then choc orange tart for him, meringue fruit for her! We...
