"Went here for Sunday lunch. Cant rate this pub, 8 people dined. on the menu was a choice of 4 meats, but when we placed our order they had run out of pork, down to 3 meats. ordered the mix of 3 meats and paid extra. then we were told they had run out of lamb. Now down to 2 meats, they didn't offer any refund so we thought we would get extra meat .no such luck. Food arrived, a dish full of peas and a dish full of cabbage and that was it. I asked if there were any carrots, sorry , run out I was told. a choice of 2 veg, yippee .Kids meal came with ice cream so we ordered strawberry sauce over the ice cream. surprise surprise it came with chocolate sauce. It was exchanged after taking it back to the bar staff. The 1st ones came with 2 big scoops and a biscuit on top , after sending them back they arrived minus the biscuits and half the amount of ice cream. definitely would never go back and wouldn't recommend this place to any one . No stars."

We visit the Hollybush and its sister pub, the New Inn, often. The food is excellent and we love dining there.

The food is above the average pub grub and there is plenty of choice and a good range of beers. Sunday lunch is really good and it's value for money. recently refurbished lounge is comfortable.

This restaurant is absolutely wonderful. The interior design is delightful, clean, and inviting. The food was fantastic - we tried the ham, egg, and chips and were told that the ham was unbelievably tender. I ordered the lamb shank with creamy mashed potatoes, peas, and mint gravy and it was cooked to perfection, falling off the bone. We will definitely be returning regularly.

My family did not enjoy this experience, booked 2 weeks in advance, for Sunday lunch, but must admit we arrived 30 minutes after the arranged time, Perhaps this was the reason they had run out of veg choices, no pork, and no lamb. The gravy was watery the staff were very attentive, and apologetic, however they did not make up for the meal.! the size of our party, may not have help, in making up my review.

We usually have a Saturday breakfast locally and as the Holly had started doing breakfast we decide to give it a try. We were glad we did. £4.95 regular breakfast consisted of 2 fried eggs, 2 bacon rashers, 2 sausages, mushrooms, black pudding, baked beans, hash brown and tomatoes tinned or fried plus toast and complimentary tea or coffee. Best breakfast we have had for a long time and right on our doorstep We will definitely be back

There was 15 of us who were out for a family meal, pub looks better inside as first impressions from the outside is run-down.out of what we all ate, gammon was fine, scampi was ok but tartar sauce wasn't the best, the steaks seemed fine but we've had bigger in other pubs.loads of chips and peas.outside smoking area had only 1 ashtray between all the tables that was crammed full, and one of our party waited 20 minutes for a drink.needs some improvements, won't be going back in a hurry.

A group of twenty ladies recently gathered at The Hollybush for our Christmas dinner and we all had a wonderful time. We pre-ordered our meals to make things easier for the kitchen staff, and everyone received exactly what they ordered, avoiding any mix-ups. The only suggestion for improvement would be to bring out the vegetables at the same time as the entrees, as some of us had to wait for them and ended up with cold food. It seemed like the waitresses were working hard to serve all the diners, so perhaps a few more staff members would be beneficial. Despite this, all of our meals were delicious, and the desserts were lovely as well. As a first-time visitor to The Hollybush, I would not he...

"My wife and I booked a table at the Cinnamon Tree on Tuesday for the Sunday early evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I checked their web site first before booking as the actual date was on the Monday. Finding out that they did not...open on Mondays we opted for the Sunday. I telephoned the restaurant and made the booking. the person on the other end of the telephone repeated my details and time date ect. We turned up at the restaurant to fined it was closed with a sign on the door stating that they did not open on Sundays and Mondays. We got back in the car and went to turn around at the back of the restaurant and I saw a door at the back of the restaurant open. I stopped the car and went to the door and found someone in the kitchen. I told them that I had booked a table for that night and he confirmed what we had found out with the notes on the door. He then telephoned the owners of the restaurant and he put me on the telephone and I spoke to the owners partner and she said they have not been open for several weeks owing to staff shortages. I asked the lady why the booking had been taken as the staff must be aware of when the restaurant is closed or open and I had gone by their web site. She replied we haven't bothered to up date our web site and will not be doing so and have not bothered to blank out Sundays on the book were the reservations are written in and just blamed the person that took the booking in the first place. Her attitude was I couldn't care less. At this point I was boiling as I have used the Cinnamon Tree for many years and have always had a good meal there. But after this episode they can go to hell I will never go there again."
