"Stayed overnight at the H and F in their dog friendly accommodation 'The Salutation Inn ' across the road from the pub hotel. Dog friendly room was spacious with bowls and bed area for the dog and large double bed with large plasma tv for our comfort. Tea and coffee facilities including biscuits. Room was very clean and neatly furnished. Dinner and breakfast across the road at the Horse and farrier pub had facility to include your dog on non carpeted dining area and staff were welcoming and professional. Food was excellent nd service very efficient . Would definitley recommend this to others- perfect for walkers, close to Keswick and you can take your dog."

Usually a GF Cask beer on tip, items on menu marked as either GF or GF available. Had a few meals here and a few beers, all right

Excellent friendly service, nothing was to much trouble. The food was lovely, the fish and chips were fabulous and the coronation chicken sandwich was delicious. Will definitely be back soon.

Yes this is an old coaching inn full of character but I think £5.95 for 10 olives and 4 pieces of crostini is pushing it to say the least. The main course was pleasant enough but nothing special. Real ales also seemed expensive. Having said that would probably return.

Stayed just 2 nights and from the second I arrived a very warm welcome from Keith who showed me to my beautifully equipped room. My evening meal excellent so was breaky. Really impressed from the polite prompt service to the beautifully presented meal served very hot. Well done to everyone at H&F

We had 2 evening meals here when in the area recently. The food was good the staff friendly and efficient. I enjoyed the gin menu, paired with various Fevertree tonics. I particularly liked that our dogs were made very welcome, in fact nearly every table had a dog under it. All were well behaved. I would certainly visit again.

Not been in for several years and the food then was excellent. Today I'm afraid was a poor experience. The beer I bought was only average and the food was just about edible. My son and I both had a burger which were both like chewing a plimsoll. The chips looked sorry as well defo from the freezer I'd say. So £53 the lighter we left feeling conned. Never again!

53 Walkers from Lytham Ramblers descended on the Horse and Farrier for a pre ordered meal . With a choice of 10+ meals to select from the Kitchen had their work cut , especially as we only had around an hour to have it served and eaten before getting back on the coach . No problem to Dave and his team. All the meals were fresh and well cooked, plenty of it and served quickly and with a friendly smile from the staff . Enough time to enjoy a drink , eat and talk about the days Ramble. A great days walking finished with a great meal at the Horse and Farrier . Thank you and Well done , we will be back
