"Had dinner on this night. The worker was very friendly and helpful. No menus in English but the staff easily helped us with the menu choices in English. My wife had the cheeseburger and it was very good. It was not a frozen piece of meat. It was hand made and grilled well. It was a good size burger and they served small baked potato chunks instead of fries which were a great alternative. I had pasta with a sliced/ground meat tomato based sauce that contained some fresh cherry tomatoes and a few chunks of carrots you could easily pick out if desired. The sauce was much better than the average restaurant meat sauce. The staff brought me some red chili pepper slices to help give the dish some spicy flavor. The pasta was obviously freshly cooked and everything was hot just like the restaurant name suggests! One coke and one water. A small basket of bread. Total 50CHF which is fairly normal for Swiss casual dining. Highly recommended."

I ate great homemade tortelloni here. So good that I feel hungry just thinking about it. Real pasta is rare to find. Viva la cucina italiana

small and large meals at a good price, quickly served, friendly service. card is incomprehensible and cannot be seen for the laity. for mathematicians better suited, but whatever you order is fresh and tasty. special variety is of course available in pasta with sauces of all kinds. interior design in italy style seasoned with a bit of studi atmosphere and vintage design.

It's a rather cozy place with very friendly staff. As a frequent visitor, I am a big fan of their soup+sandwich+drink combo. The type of soups they offer vary from day to day, but they all taste great, and so does the sandwich they serve. Beware the lunch time crowd during the school season, especially if you are a party of 3 or more, as it can be quite packed with students. After the meal, do give their espresso a try, you won't regret it.

"This is my fav Italian joint in Zurich. La Famiglia Tremonte is a small, family run cafe-restaurant that serves excellent and authentic Italian food at prices that are low compared to the norm in Zurich.Famiglia Tremonte is rather inconspicuously located at the corner of Zurlindenstrasse and Birmensdorferstrasse, a couple of doors away from The Desperado Mexican Restaurant. You might need to look for it a little: I lived practically next door and did not notice it for almost a year, and even then a friend had to point it out to me.The restaurant is mostly a takeout with very little seating, i.e. 7 people inside, and when the weather is goo, about 5 people outside. The ambience is basic but, like most things in Switzerland, the interiors are very clean. Staff and service are very goo. The food here is awesome! Authentic Italian fare that is probably heavily influenced by Sicilian tradition since that is where the family is from. I used to visit almost every day because the food tastes great and the prices are so low for Zurich. I have tried almost everything: several pasta dishes, polpettine, stuffed bell peppers, meatloaf, piadina, and of course, the fabulously tasty and hot chilli infused EVOO. I enjoyed every dish I ordered. Great stuff! I strongly recommend the super-hot chilli infused EVOO as a seasoning for almost all dishes, but especially the pasta dishes that come in a cream sauce. Please be careful with chilli EVOO: 0.5 tbsp. for noobs, and a max. of 2 tbsp. for those who like it hot. The chilli EVOO, when used appropriately, adds great flavour to your dish. The piadina is the best I have eaten - period. I have been all over the world, spent a lot of time in Italy and New York (: great place for Italian food lovers :), and I still think this is the best piadina ever. They also serve some nice Italian desserts -- I've tried a few but have forgotten the names. They also have a small selection of Italian ingredients for sale. I bought the pesto and was happy with it. You also get a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic Italian drinks to go with the food.Prices are relatively low by Zurich standards: I rarely ever ate for more than CHF 15, and if I skipped the drinks it was usually around CHF 10. Of course, this varies a bit according to what you order.Highly recommended. Glad I found this place. Great for office workers in the vicinity."
