"We booked a room to join friends for a couple of days who were already staying there. We were offered a pricey room (over 300.-) and on arrival were really disappointed with the tired and old fashioned (35 year) furniture, bedding, bathrooms (broken WC seat, broken bin) etc. WIFI is also not brilliant. There is a beautiful-sized sitting room under the eaves, but soooo tired and old fashioned, it's where the WiFi works best, but it's so dreary you wouldn't want to spend more time than necessary there. The food was ok. I've had much better half-board, spring rolls or bruschetta for starters, in a Swiss alpine restaurant in winter??? The meat fondue was fine, but tiny portions of meat and filling us up with potatoes... Even in the regular restaurant, tiny portions of Wallis specialities, compared to where we had lunch on the ski trails. I think this is a hotel which can be fine for the cheaper rooms, but for 10 francs more we could have been in the five star, new, with spa, hotel just up the road. Everything seems to be a bit too much trouble for the owner (the pick-up at the cable car was so unwelcoming and unfriendly, no smile, just irritation), which is a shame as he is in the hospitality business. Some of the serving personnel can barely speak German and service turns out to be a bit brusque and almost rude, despite it probably only being a language problem. They realised they'd forgotten a bottle of wine after we left and sent the bill on to us a week later... Not brilliant publicity. We'll not be returning as it was far too expensive for what we got. I think family deals or the dependence for young skiers are probably ok though."

The meat was very good and tender! The service was friendly and the water was not even on the bill! The ambience is sweet and cozy. Thumbs up!

Typical swiss restaurant in the alp resorts. Was ther in off season and this was the only restaurant which seemed busy. Food was good as was the service. Prices were comparable to other similar restaurants I have visited.

We went there after a long day of hiking. Soups were really delicious and interesting (e.g. tomato cream with gin). The main course - fish (trout) was really good. The restaurant is a bit pricey if you don't choose from a daily menu but well, Swiss prices.

For at least eight years, we have had a dinner or lunch here and the quality, the flavor, the size of the steak tartar has been always great. I always get the Cafe de Paris but my kids like the Italian, the Basilica, and the Sicilian. Unfortunately, we don't have a picture to post since we eat first and think later.

The hotel restaurant has an amazing view and we enjoyed watching the sun go down and disappear from the mountains opposite. Tip: there are outdoor heaters for the tables next to the building which is useful on a cool summer evening. Menu was confusing with many choices and about three different menus. I enjoyed my salmon, but my partner was disappointed with a lack of taste to the wild boar. Staff were friendly.

A Gilde rated restaurant that also serves chicken nuggets and croûte au fromage. Went up to Bettmeralp on a sunday, half the restaurants were closed. We were just looking for something cheap and light. They have a lot to choose from, we opted for the light lunch. Cant really comment on their Gilde Menu but we had a lovely time, the waitress took really good care of us. The service was fast and friendly. They have a beautiful terrace with a stunning view.

The restaurant is Gilde-rated and I was having the dinner part of my half board at another hotel because the restaurant there closed on Mondays. The starter of snails provencale was absolutely divine, the use of herbs was absolutely masterful so I was realy looking forward to my main course of Zuercher Geschnetzeltes but the veal was overcooked adn teh Roesti soggy. Ther service was good as was the wine list but given it's Gilde rating it was bit of a disappointment.

We went here for dinner on a Saturday and the atmosphere was lovely; very cozy and not at all pretentious. The menu is quite traditional, but both our meals (we ate from the Autumn menu) were delicious! We had also brought along our 6 month old baby who slept most of the time in the pram next to us; all the staff and guests were smiling at him and didn't make us feel at all uncomfortable (which often happens when you bring a baby to a restaurant). We're back in Bettmeralp for a week in winter and can't wait to go back here for a meal or two!

Located on the main street and only a few hundred meters from our chalet it was perfect for dinner for us (Father and son on a men's weekend leaving wife and sisters at home)Customer Service:The German waiter has clearly understood the customer service concept. Anticipated needs and wants before we could express them. Was always present at the right time, helpful and simply SUPER. (If you read this - weiter so, many could learn what customer focus means from you). Nothing less than excellent. I would strongly recommend you go there to experience what heartfelt customer service feels like.Food:We had fondue Chinoise (meat fondue) which was not only served fast but came with as much/many as yo...
