"We stayed here a week after Christmas. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were good, offering cereals, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, yogurts and various types of ham, cheese and breads. and substantial for a day's skiing. They pride themselves in their five course dinner each night, in the morning you pick your main course, but the soup was flavoured water with a layer of grease, the salads were tomatoes and lettuce and the cheapest, though very nice wine, was €23! They have a swimming pool but I didn't try it out. One disadvantage is that it doesn't have a proper bar in the hotel which means that we ended up going to other hotels which were buzzing. The hotel does have a bar in the basement but not the best as there are no windows but the good thing is that people didn't smoke which they tend to do in other establishments. The hotel location is really good, very close to the nursery slopes and close to the main street. The owners and staff are extremely friendly and helpful and apart from the soup i would definitely stay there again."

A well-run café with an outdoor terrace right in the centre of Westendorf. Serves traditional Austrian dishes.

We went in off season, service was ok, food was ok, but not great, it just did the work, selection of restaurants with decent lunch menu limited in town, maybe not surprisingly from season

Usually make this our last call of the day when out for the evening walk after dinner in the village. Very pleasant hosts and staff. Hot chocolate accompanied by a Drambuie to round off the evening.

It was very cosy and the staff very good. They all come out and introduced themselves so we had high hopes but I am afraid the food was disappointing, Very average Schnitzel. Poor chips and disappointing side salad.

We were not residents but came in off the street and were ushered into their cosy restaurant in the back room- see other reviewers photos. Great meal, good range of food and great service ....but order the fondue of the morning when you want to go! We ate baked Camembert, mushroom gnocchi, steak with onions, and a Weiner schnitzel. Great desserts and coffee

An old, traditional hotel with good food, great breakfasts, a 5 course evening meal and very attentive waiters. We had a good, spacious, comfortable room with bath/shower, balcony and a small table and chairs. The room was great for skiers as there were plenty of hooks, drawers, cupboards and wardrobes. All of the staff were very friendly and spoke English very well (a must for me as my German leaves a lot to be desired). The downstairs bar is a great find as it's non-smoking bar (unusual in Austria)

Bravo to Toni and the new management that create and open this cafe and hotel in a record time We enjoyed our breakfast my wife and I, the oat flour and the small breakfast mousse. I have also tried the gourmet breakfast with the cheese and "worst" dish! We also had a great diner. My friend from Australia enjoyed the 2 nights at the hotel, the pool, the location and hospitality. Many things you can turn off from there, very nice tons start! Keep going, your creativity and management skills persistence will advance your success.

Visited recently with 6 of us for an evening meal. High quality food, nice atmosphere. The service with regards to allergies was ok(onions and nuts) not as helpful as other restaurants in town particularly for GF food despite the standard Austrian , the rack of ribs was huge and very tasty. Everyone did have a good meal, so I would not say dont go. The only downside was we just could not get served after the meal with coffees/drinks, the waiter disappeared and when he came out there were 3 other tables all waiting for him as well.

Jakobwirt was not only known for her good food, but also for warm family atmosphere. The food is still good, but the atmosphere is gone. On Christmas Eve there was a cold reception and we had to wait in the lobby as the reserved table was not ready. The despair of some drinks was not possible because no one was at home. After 25 minutes we asked if the table was ready and suddenly it was. Very brightly illuminated part of the restaurant, no x-mas atmosphere. The courses were served in a short time without explaining what it was. felt as fast as possible. We had to ask if we could have more drinks. No spontaneous conversation of waiters etc. Being short, eating is still good, but new owners f...
