"My husband and I visited for a light lunch after a walk about Hillsborough forest park. We were met promply by a staff member who advised us there was only a table downstairs We sanitised our hands at the entrance and followed her downstairs.. Other...tables upstairs which were unoccupied had reserved on them so we excepted. Downstairs I suppose isnt the nicest place to sit as we were the only ones there and it looks a bit like an extra storage place but our table was clean. Only issue is it is where the toilet is and there was a pong coming from it when I opened the door to use it. Needed the window opened. The staff member was pleasant and took our order and we had a toasty and a panini. Both were very tasty and well filled served with a small side salad of green leaves and some crisps. My advise is to try and get a table on ground floor would return if I did"

Visited Humble Pie Dec 2020. Waited in the doorway and having been ignored for beyond a reasonable time, we left. It's a shame when hospitality is suffering so much at present that the actions of frontline staff can have such an impact. Shame but we...won't be back.

My wife and I called in here for lunch on our way to Warrenpoint. She had a toasted sandwich with ham, pineapple and brie. I had an egg mayo and smoked bacon sandwich. Both used soft, fresh bread packed with delicious fillings and were very...tasty. I'm very happy to recommend this place.

Been to humble pie many times and the food and the service are brilliant. We have never had too long to wait on our food and it is always made to perfection. Andrea the owner is very friendly and welcoming to everyone. Best place in...the village to go for a quick bite to eat or a coffee.

when for a walk in hillsborough yesterday. on the way back to the car, I suggested we have tee and cake on a beautiful little place I had noticed earlier. we went there, it was humble pie, a cute insane caffe on main street....We had applecakes and ice cream with a pot tee and it was a wonderful tasty bite. the personal and the equipment are beautiful, highly recommended for a traditional snack.

this is the second visit of the humble cake in the last 2 months. both paint, my older father and I were greeted by very unfriendly employees. you say the caffe is full and tries to send us away - good work we waited as. it took a minute to get a table free. When I asked if there was another coffee in hillsborough, the employee cried and said she didn't know. my vater is 86 and had already fought on the ascent to the caffe. no problem with eating that is beautiful, but the staff could have some training regarding.

beautiful caffe in the beautiful hillsborough, just a short drive from belfast. we stopped for lunch tomato and basilikum suppe and sandwiches staff were very welcoming toilets were immaculately clean. we asked a few questions about the local places to visit the dame was very helpful. the only part was the girl in the theke who had the sandwiches had long hairs hanging on her back and I believed every time she flicked it back, especially when she was eating over. her hair should be tied together and in a net. otherwise a nice lunch place.

I've called into The Humble Pie on a few occasions for takeaway and sit-in, but every time have found that the staff do not have any ability to engage with customers or be welcoming: pay for your food and drink and you can go. The...drinks are fine, the food is good, but delivered with no pleasure or thanks, despite the fact that it's a global pandemic and that local support of local businesses is more vital than its ever been. No, thanks for the support .. I won't go back. I also know others who will not go back for the same reason. Disappointing.

The worst experience ever with Andrea. After waiting for ordered food for 30 minutes- decided to ask if food will arrive soon. One staff member answered that she is not responsible for our table. They responsible staff came Andrea to say that she is preparing breakfast...and walked off. So we were left wondering whether someone even started to make our order. We were given lunch menu. After some time Andrea code to our table and said that we can go away if we are not happy, Jumped on customer and too his Phone and started to shout get out of this place and showing with hand to door.

"Without a doubt the worst experience we have ever had. Pre booked a table for 5 for dinner on Saturday evening and when we arrived they didn't seem that busy. We were shown to our table relatively quick. We then had to sit there for around 20 minutes until someone came to take our food order. I was a bit surprised that there was only 2 steaks on the menu unless you gave 24hr notice. We then had to ask could we order a drink. It wasn't a difficult order 1 beer and 4 Fanta. We waited a further 15 for the drinks to come which were wrong also the glasses were disgusting with lipstick and previous drink residue on them.we eventually got all that sorted and the food came. I had ordered a mixed grill which was £28 I asked for my steak to be cooked medium. The plates were literally just in front of us 2 minutes when a waitress came and asked was everything OK. As I began to work my way through the food I eventually got to the 8oz steak which was very well done and extremely hard to chew so it was left. When everyone had finished they came to clear the plates and I told the waitress that I had asked for medium and not well done and to my surprise she immediately got on the defensive asking did someone come and see if everything was OK I told her yes but it was just after the food was brought. 2 minutes later the owner of the place came out of the kitchen with my steak on a small plate and proceeded to tell me I was wrong and that that's the way a medium steak should look but there was not even a slight tinge of pink. He then started to tell me that I didn't know how steak was cooked. I then mentioned the glasses and he said didn't they get replaced so what's the problem. At this point t my kids were getting pretty upset so I just asked for the bill so we could leave. To be honest it was very intimidating to have a well over 6ft man stand over you arguing over a piece of steak. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone."

"Where to begin? Our mother decided to “treat” myself and my sister to lunch. However, soon our joy turned into laughter, and then to severe disappointment. My sister and I shared a “panini” of bacon, Brie and cranberry sauce. Firstly, the “panini” was a baguette...which had been seared then microwaved. The bacon was the best bit, yet had clearly reheated in a microwave. The Brie, was next to non-existent. The cranberry sauce, oh my goodness it was atrocious. Our “panini” was not a generous size for a grand price of half of which was filled with psychedelic blood-like sugary cranberry sauce (with giant chunks of cranberry). First when my sister took a bite I thought she was over exaggerating, for I had not tasted the cranberry sauce yet, it was upon my second bite the true horror of the “panini” had come to fruition. Picture this, expecting to have a bite of creamy Brie, crispy bacon, and tart cranberry sauce, and then instead being met with a taste that resembled sweetened jelly powder. I tried to convince myself that my tastebuds were deceiving me I fought through the overwhelming taste of sweeties, to attempt to taste the Brie, which in fact I couldn’t find. The bacon flavour barely made it through and the bread was more a sponge for soaking up the cranberry sauce. As you can see from the photo provided, in order to make some attempt at finishing the “panini”, my sister and I had to dissect it and surgically remove what looked like blood clots cranberries. To add to this horror, there was but a sad pile of coleslaw, apparently a pile of crinkle-cut crisps it wasn’t even to my surprise at this point that there was one solitary crinkle-cut crisp among a variety of other flavoured basic crisps. To top this all off, our mother bravely tried the pink foam substance (we still aren’t sure what it was) and she had to immediately reach for her glass of water to wash away the taste. This experience produced within us both feelings of guilt and shame. Guilt, because our mother (who rarely eats out) was attempting to “treat” us to brunch. She felt guilty at inflicting such a disastrous “panini” on us as a “treat”. Shame, because we are the type of family who NEVER leave food on our plates, yet we were so embarrassed about how it looked like we barely ate anything at all, so we quickly made an exit. In conclusion, the hot food needs serious reform. On a positive note, the staff seemed friendly."
