"Cream had gone off so soup inedible, on a Saturday lunchtime. Staff didn't listen to us when we first mentioned it, but eventually, at our suggestion, one tasted the batch, agreed grudgingly that the soup was inedible/unsafe to consume and told us they would threw the batch away and just offer one soup on the daily menu. Staff reluctantly allowed us to order and pay for an alternative soup. We were later told the only two staff there that day were new and inexperienced, normally working under supervision of the head chef. Fair enough, but my review would be less critical if our complaint had been addressed and soup replaced promptly, maybe one or both not charged for or offered complimentary tea or coffee or a credit note or voucher would be usual industry practice. Previous vists for coffee or tea satisfactory. We later heard the usual chef was not working that day."

Visited with kids for brunch. The waffles were delicious. Great coffee. Kno ked a star off as the bread was a bit dry on sausage sandwich.

Tea and scone nice but the downstairs toilet was out of order and the upstairs one looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. Won’t be visiting again

Visited yesterday with my sons for a bit of brunch. I had an amazing bacon, brie and cranberry panini with a latte. My boys had the most amazing smoothies- so so tasty. Staff were friendly. Price was good. Would definitely recommend.

I was very disappointed with the woman who claimed that her brownies were subpar compared to the French cafe, which was ranked number 2 on the list. However, I rated it as average because the woman's friend was extremely good-looking, but she herself was mediocre. View menu

Our favorite place to eat in Belper. The beef chilli nachos are absolutely delicious! The chicken fajitas were packed with peppers and onions, served with salad, guacamole, and sour cream, and were incredibly tasty. They also offer lovely fresh scones, brownies, and amazing chocolates and homewares.

Had afternoon tea and they catered for me perfectly as a coeliac vegetarian. For once I didn’t have to go without or feel left out. Mind was also just as lovely as the normal version. The quality was excellent and plenty of it. A good price too £29.99 for two people. Highly recommend. Nice staff and cute place too, and nearby the high street so nice places to wonder afterwards. Clean toilets too.

Afternoon tea to die for! Came with some friends for afternoon tea and must say, this place is a hidden gem. We have had many afternoon teas in places all over the country but this one beats them all! The quality, the presentation, the service, I couldn’t fault anything. As the place is known for chocolate you even get a delicious pot of gooey chocolate to dip strawberries and marshmallows in. Our friends were utterly impressed and so were we. We will definitely be back. Thank you for such a wonderful afternoon. View menu

My husband and I happened upon this café while exploring Belper high street. It was our first time visiting, so we weren't sure if there would be any vegan options available for us to eat. However, when I spotted a sign in the window advertising vegan scones, I knew we had to check it out. I ordered a vegan fruit scone with jam and a tea with oat milk, which was absolutely delicious. I also noticed they offered a mezze platter with a vegan option. My husband tried a non-vegan scone and said it was also tasty. While they don't offer main meals, their menu is perfect for a quick lunch or tea and cake stop. The sign also mentioned they had gluten-free scones available, making it a great spot fo...

We went here during Belper Pride . Having decided what to order , I went in to order it . There were about 5 people behind the counter and one customer in front . Once he was gone , I waited for some one to serve me . They were busy trying to get their orders in the right order with the magnets . I waited. One was cutting some rainbow cake in the window . I waited . One left the counter without giving me eye contact . One decided to crack on with making coffee orders . I initially thought ok they are busy but it became clear they were doing their very best ignoring strategy . I waited but it got silly and I left and said we are not eating here as I’ve been completely ignored. If you want to...
