Well located, yes. Famous, yes. Nice style, yes. Low prices, no. I would not come back. You can get elsewhere much warm atmosphere and kind service and spare the cold mechanical attitude. Tourists are not only a target for milking money. View menu

Colazione veloce prima di iniziare la prima giornata del weekend a Berlino. Abbiamo preso un cappuccino, un te e un piatto nel quale vi erano due brioches, del burro e della marmellata.Tutto molto buono, servizio veloce e location davvero molto carina e romantica.

Firstly, I will clarify that we only visited the cafe of the Kaisersaal in the Sony Center. I think there might be event space in the building as well, but this review is only for the cafe. Before seeing a movie we stopped in and had coffee and Apfelstrudel. While the Strudel was tasty enough, it didn't nearly justify the almost 8 Euro price tag! Additionally, the furniture in the cafe all seemed rather shabby and most of the benches and chairs were stained. Overall, not impressed.

This is 2017. This is an area in Berlin that seems to do immense efforts to look super modern. That's why I don't "get" this particular place: it is nice, the people are nice, the food is decent...but despite the name I frankly cannot comprehend why the owners play so much on passeist stuff as if they had voluntarily decided to create the exact opposite of the super modern superstructure above them and the various places around them. I've visited the Kaisersaal Cafe at the Sony Center twice because it looked attractive from the outside and there is such a dearth of decent cafes in the area. Once I went for a glass of wine and the second time for a speciality coffee, hoping for a better experience. But both times the experience was highly disappointing: the furniture upholstery is badly stained and the service is frankly terrible. Staff are disinterested and negligent, as a result. I can't comment on the food as I've never eaten there but due to the attitude of the staff, I won't return.

Seit ca 7 Jahren vorbei gegangen, heute mit meiner Freundin eingekehrt. Sonntag um 14 Uhr, geringer, nicht ansprechender Kuchenangebot, Pflaumenkuchen im März??Haben 1 Cappuccino ( ca 4.20€!). und eine grosse (??) Tasse Kaffee (4,80€!!) bestellt. Cappuccino ohne Begleitung vom üblichen Gebäck serviert, ohne jegliche Verzierung, und auch ohne jeglichem Geschmack vom Espresso! Mein Kaffee war schlicht ungeniessbar, würde als braune undefinierbare Brühe bezeichnen. Der Service einfach gleichgültig.Die Sitzbänke verdreckt, der Befestigungsring rund Marmortisch fiel bei Berührung gleich weg, schien ein bekanntes Problem zu sein. Kein Wunder, dass dort kaum Klientel war! Wir sagen nur: nie wieder!

I was here for the first time back in 2009. and I was so pleased with the experience that this year, when I visited Berlin after 8 years, I decided to come back to Kaisersaal. I used to rave about their kaiserschmarrn but the one I tasted few days ago was not really worth a hype. Also, it's normal to wait about 25-30 min for it, but we waited for 45 minutes although the place wasn't crowded at all. I complained to my partner how schmarrn is not really caramelized enough, that there is not enough almonds and the mixture is to bland and he joked how they probably didn't have enough time to do it properly.Coffee was just ok, a bit too watery.The service was mediocre and ladies room was not real...
