"We went to the restaurant for a Sunday roast and to watch football. The chicken and pork were delicious and served with fresh homemade Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, gravy, and tasty braised cabbage with roast carrots. Although fish and chips were not on the menu, they kindly made it for our daughter who really loved it, especially the warm freshly baked cookie with ice cream for dessert. We will definitely be returning for the food, not just for the football. The pub has recently been refurbished, and the kitchen is now visible in the back room. The pub looks great."

I leave locally so visit this pub on the regular basis In my opinion it is as authentic East London pub as it gets. Amazing quality ales...

Basic but very clean rooms. Made to feel very welcome and the locally brewed ales is a bonus. Only 20-25 mins into central London. We would definitely stay again. View menu

Home of Brodie's brewery, this very good pub is worth a stop if your in the Leyton Area. A number of there beers on tap plus guest ales. A cheap but good food menu is available.

How noisy can a pub be at 8.00 o’clock, had a meeting with friends that we hadn’t seen for a while and had to leave because of the noise although we asked on numerous ocasiones if they could lower the volume

We went to the pub for Sunday roast, even though it's our local we had never been there before. The vegetarian roast and sides were delicious, as was the cookie pudding. The pub had a friendly atmosphere, even though they were showing football it wasn't too overwhelming. The toilets could use some updating, but we will definitely be coming back. View menu

I used to live in the area 12 years ago, and this was one of my favorite local pubs. After not visiting for several years, I wasn't sure what to expect when I stopped by last week. I'm happy to say that it was just as good as I remembered. I didn't eat, so I can't comment on the food, but the variety of beers was impressive, and the three I tried were of great quality. The atmosphere was lively and pleasant, and the staff gave us a warm welcome. Well done!

We had gone here for lunch a couple of weeks ago and it was superb, the food was excellent the staff very friendly and helpful. So we decided to make a return trip on Sunday, the food was not even average it was very poor, when we mentiond that the roast beef was inedible, backed up by what was left on the plate, the waiter, who I had to ask to clear the plates, commented that he was sorry about that, No mention of perhaps we could give you a dessert or something to compensate.
