"Went here for a coffee about 3.30pm on a Saturday afternoon. There was a sign just inside the door saying please wait to be seated. We stood for a couple of minutes and seemed to be ignored by staff, who weren't especially busy, as the place was quiet. Eventually a girl behind the counter gestured for us to go over to her. She told us that the kitchen was closed and they were only offering tea coffee which was all we wanted anyway. I ordered two cappuccinos and a glass of cold water. We were then asked to find a table. There were plenty seats available so we sat and waited for our coffees. A young girl brought the coffees over but no glass of water, so I had to go and ask for it at the counter. I can't say we really enjoyed the coffees as they were only lukewarm, and I would rather have a hot coffee than something with a fancy pattern on top. At £6.20 for two, it was rather overpriced, and not even a very large cup. I won't be rushing back, there are plenty better places than this."

The restaurant is very clean and cheerful, with a wide selection of delicious food and excellent coffee. They also have vegan options available, all in a pleasant atmosphere.

This is a chilled, welcoming destination with a good selection of drinks and food. The staff are lovely and they love dogs who are allowed inside the cafe. We always end up here when visiting Dumfries.

I had a great time at this restaurant. I tried a salad where I could choose my own options. The coffee was delicious and the staff were very helpful and patient as I made my selection. They didn't rush me at all. View menu

Normally excellent but today we were served with stale scones. There really is no excuse for this. Chuck out the old ones, serve fresh ones and cover them up rather than leave them exposed on the counter. Coffee was good.

I have been dining at this restaurant for many years, off and on, and the food never fails to impress. It is delicious, healthy, and served generously. The friendly staff and great coffee add to the overall dining experience.

Lovely to see Mark and Helen today. It's been a long time! Can highly recommend the Smoked salmon on sour dough toast. Not in Dfs very often but always call in... Great food, friendly staff and nice ambience. Keep it up and thanks to all.

Popped into Kings for lunch and wasn’t disappointed. What a lovely hidden gem. Just wanted something light and opted for a salad, you chose 4 items could add something of protein to bulk out and a dressing. I chose Tomatoes, cucumber, feta roasted peppers/onions with added lemon mayo chicken. The dressing was balsamic olive oil. It had leaves underneath. For a drink I chose water as I don’t do hot drinks and they gave me the option of tap water which was nice instead of buying a bottle. My friends had a croissant a toasted baguette with bacon Brie. There was plenty to choose from. The atmosphere was relaxed and service was quick and friendly. Disabled friendly. My friend was in a motorised w...

"Myself and my partner where just outside of portpatrick yesterday and wondered about somewhere to have lunch, it was about 12.30pm on a scorching hot Bank holiday Sunday. We hadn’t actually planned to go there to start with but thought why not. I saw on Facebook Connors Restaurant had just uploaded a Facebook post about stopping there for a choice of 2 lovely menus and a cheeky gin, sounded perfect! The post had went up about 15 mins before we arrived, so I assumed they must be looking to take some tables. I walked down and there where 2 tables taken outside, and 1 table inside. I asked if I could get a table for 2 outside if possible and I was told no they had been reserved and I thought okay but before I could even open my mouth again she said all tables inside where also reserved that they where fully booked. There was 1 table inside, other wise it was pretty empty. Ok no problem, we found somewhere else so no big deal, after about 2 hours spent having food and wondering around we went back to the car (parked just up from Connors restaurant) and I noticed again there was only the 1 table outside, and no one at the others. I’m maybe wrong but I felt like this was odd, the inside didn’t look like it was “fully booked” either. It actually looked a little dead compared to everywhere else. This has also happened to my friends a couple of times too they’ve went in and the place has been stone dead but got turned away because of the excuse of being fully booked. Just felt like it was not quite right. Sorry I never usually write reviews but felt like I had to get my point across on this one. We would love to dine here and hopefully will in the future."
