"Stumbled across this little cafe nearing the end of the coast to coast cycle, in need of a hearty lunch. Had the largest vat of cappuccino this side of the Atlantic a very welcome treat. We had a baked potato meal and a special chicken wrap both were good but left us still a little peckish, although this could have been our inflated appetites from a long morning's cycling. Lucky we were still hungry as we ordered the carrot cake, which was the best I've had. Gary has quite the touch! He was also a delight to chat to and very kindly gave us some bakewell tart to try alongside our cake so we left feeling very satisfied. A good option for a simple lunch or coffee/cake if you are in the area."

Having been before we had high expectations; and were not let down. My son enjoyed his quiche, and my panini was just right., served with a proper salad.

We ordered our meals from the menu before Garry told us about the pies; luckily he hadn't started our order so we were able to change. My son said the ham and egg pie was delicious so was the special christmas pie. Too good not to go back to!

Went with friends for a breakfast. It was good and a fair price. Had a hot chocolate which was nearly £3 and almost as much as the breakfast but not great. Not enough milk and paid extra for marshmallows it was only average. However what annoyed me was that we all had breakfast and drinks but asked for some water and not until later did I realise I’m menu that they charge for it which I feel is outrageous and spoilt my overall experience. This restaurant recently underwent a change in ownership, with the new owner having no prior experience in the restaurant or cafe industry. Unfortunately, customers have been experiencing long wait times of over 45 minutes for their orders, with those who came in after receiving their food first. This has caused distress among customers, and even the quality of the Americano coffee has been lacking. It is a disappointing situation for all involved.

Had a wonderful lunch once again in this great cafe. The food was excellent, beautiful homemade soup ,home baked pies and cheese cake to finish. It’s now a regular venue for me and my Father. What brings us back week after week is the attention to detail ,varied menu and delicious food offered. It is a small venue but it’s big on quality ,the food will not fail to impress. Keep up the good work guys. Not forgetting Sam excellent staff member on the day we visited Good luck and best wishes I would advise all to pop in and give it a go you will not be disappointed Bob

"The place seems unprofessionally run. The staff all look like they could do with a bath. No overalls are worn and their clothes are all of the type that many would wear to lounge around the house in . Several have longer hair and beards but don’t wear any kitchen p.p.e. The decor is shabby and I wondered what kind of hygiene rating they would have. Although not busy, the staff seemed to be disorganised, falling over eachother and lacking in training. They seemed to handle the food in an inexperienced, clumsy fashion. The only tool I saw being used was a pizza peel for taking the pizza in and out of the oven. On all other occasions the food was handled. I didn’t notice any hand washing or alcohol gel in evidence. The menu is quite limited and uninspiring. 2 of the 6 pizza choices include chicken which Italians would argue is definite no no! All pizzas are reheated to order which eliminates the possibility of customisation. I don’t believe the restaurant would stand out in many European countries, as pizza in general is of a much higher standard than that in the UK. In spite of the above, The basic pizza is excellent in taste (even though it is all re-heated). And for this reason it is worth a visit. Compared to other uk pizza restaurants which are typically serving absolute garbage, the food is way out in front. If you can tolerate the negatives I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with the pizza. However with a bit of effort, this place could be transformed into something truly amazing."
