Kokoro Western Road

Jude, the manager, is a legend and I adore him. He gave us extra food and made me feel very welcome. If you visit the restaurant, be sure to say hello to him for me!

We've been to Kokoro's in other branches and they were great. This one missed our order entirely so we had to get a refund which delayed our dinner. The katsu curry was more salty than usual, but it was still ok.

I tried the pumpkin katsu curry at this restaurant, which was a great vegetarian choice. I also had a side of spring rolls. The service was good and the meal was served quickly. I had to take it back to my hotel, and they packaged it well for me.

Absolutely dire, service terrible, staff had no interest in serving customers instead chatting with their friends that came in. Food quality bad, rice very over cooked and watery, chicken is poor quality. Avoid! Much better options than this now.

Ordered Chicken with noodles. Chewy, fatty grey chicken came with big starchy overcooked noodles, a cloying sweet sauce that made us want to throw up and a few huge chunks of raw onion and carrot. Truly the most revolting food ever served in a restaurant.

I had a noodle vegetable takeaway. It was a game of spot the vegetable in the noodle a few slithers of carrot and pepper. Completely unappetizing hard work to eat after one mouthful heavy and tasteless. A return visit not going to happen. How they managed to make this easy dish so badly is diffficult to fathom.

After walking for ages we stopped here for a quick lunch. My wife ordered a sweet sour chicken with rice, and I ordered a Japanese chicken katsu curry with rice. Although I have often eaten better food than this place, I did find the food overall very tasty and similar to 'the real thing '. We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly too. For a quick meal of takeaway I would order here again.

I would give this zero if I could. I wanted to buy veggie katsu curry. At the counter I noticed that the batter prawns were touching the katsu pumpkin. I asked if they could cook Separate pumpkin in the kitchen and was told that all the chicken, fish and veggie stuff is cooked together in the same oil. This is bad for people who have fish allergies as well as the fact they can’t declare their food veggie if they’re not cooking it separate. I’ve written in to the company to complain, as I find this absolutely disgusting

The food at this restaurant was shockingly bad and potentially contaminated. My friend ordered the sweet chilli chicken and said it tasted like seafood, which I also confirmed after trying it. When we asked for a swap to something that was actually chicken and not seafood, they refused and claimed my friend had already eaten too much. Despite his fish intolerance and request for a smaller, cheaper portion, they insisted he could only have the dish they had prepared. Frustrated by the lack of accommodation and being shouted at by staff, we eventually left without finishing our meal.
