"Anyone who visits Coburg will certainly not leave the Rosengarten, it will be led as an attraction in the paper and digital guide world. And whoever explores Coburg should not leave the herbal garden, so much is said before. Only no herbs can be picked in this herb garden, which is possible with regard to the roses in the rose garden, but is prohibited. In the herbal garden, however, the herbs are all processed. The ambience The herbal garden is located in Coburg on Rosenauer Straße. There are numerous parking spaces in front of the restaurant, which create a separate distance between restaurant and street. The two-storey building painted in parts red brown and ocher-colored makes a welcoming impression, especially since the right hand of the entrance invites a large roofed terrace to stay. In comfortable basket chairs at professionally covered tables with fresh roses and fabric napkins, we can recover after a summerly hot exploration of Coburgs this warm summer evening. The summer evening on the terrace is also the reason why I don't know anything to report to the guest rooms in the herbal garden. The service A very friendly, attentive young lady, whose appearance makes us appear as a skilled specialist, is hardly any place we have taken, with the menus to hand. She notes a prosecco, pink, (4. € and half a litre of pils (2.90 €), which – as Wikipedia taught me in the aftermath – is named after the former Coburger brewery Scheidmantel. At the time we study the menu. Here you will find a plentiful offer: five appetizers of herbal garden appetizer salad with homemade raspberry dressing, chives and roasted grains (5.80 € to Carpaccio from the calf with sesame honeyvinaigrette and parmesan mousse (12.80 €). For vegetarians, homemade seedlings are offered on potato celery puree (14,80 € and at the same price pifferling almonds with herbs, butter potatoes and seasonal salad. In the case of fish and crustaceans, the selection is spread over four dishes of € 16.80 (Saltimbocca from Franconian char to € 25.70 (Steinbuttfilet with roasted artichokes, tomatoes, Pfifferlingen and herbal potatoes). Six desserts from raspberry sorbet poured with Frankensekt (3,20 € to the herbal garden dessert variation (7,90 €) invite you to a sweet conclusion. In addition to the actual menu, the service also presents us with a seasonal map with Pfifferlingsgericht. Well, who doesn't find anything in this selection...!? Since today our “Fishtag” is, we choose: – 2 x herbal garden appetizer salad with homemade raspberry dressing, chives and roasted grains, – 2 x “Saltimbocca” from the Franconian char (Filet from the char with parma ham and sage fried on basilumrisotto with zucchini. A bowl of herbal cucumber and fresh crispy bread placed our attentive lady of service on our table. The bread is very tasty, the quark could have had salt and pepper. But no problem, our operation is quick to handle, and we adjust. The appetizer salad consists of various green salads, carrots, cucumber slices and cherry tomatoes. Everything is fresh and crisp. The raspberry dressing gives the salad a fine sweet sour note. However, there is also a lack of salt and pepper. We'll try. The „Saltimbocca“ from the Franconian char (see photo tastes excellent. The risotto is perfectly cooked, but the zucchini are slightly dark roasted. This would have improved the optics. The homemade tomato sauce that surrounds the risotto has a lot of own taste. From the char is plentiful on the plate, 2 fillets wrapped with parma ham and sage. Fresh cherry tomatoes frame the fillets, everything is visually very appealing. Another dessert? I prefer to fluctuate and decide for a woodworm spirit (3 € ), which seems to me to be an ideal addition after this food composition. It tastes very fruity. My better half can not resist the raspberry yogurt mousse on papaya sauce with mountain peach and fresh berries (5,90 €). The berries are Him, Brom and Blueberries on the decorative plate. As beautiful as the dessert looks, so delicious it is. I can only partially judge cleanliness. We weren't in the guesthouses and didn't use the toilets. On the outside, everything is clean on the tables, glasses, plates and cutlery without a flaw. The conclusion (4.2 stars Our judgement “recommendable” lies four stars for the ambience, rounded five stars for the food and four stars for the service and cleanliness. Price versus performance we rate with four stars, so a total judgement of four stars with a slight tendency to their five."

The restaurant is next to the Best Western Hotel. The setting is very cosy and relaxing. They serve German Bavarian food. The taste and the presentation of the food is good. During my visit, I found the service to be exceptionally good as the servers were very fast and responsive.

Weiter so...

We were told to book in advance, if taking dinner there. Right they were, as the place was quite full on a simple working day. Then we found out, why: the dinner was indeed excellent. Having been to many restaurants all over the world, I was very surprised to find such excellent food in this German town of Coburg. In my opinion the Kräutergarten deserves quite a few points in a Gault Milau guide (and I have never recommended this before)! The service too was very friendly and each table had a lit candle to make the dinner time very romantic. A rich and nicely dressed salad was included although not mentioned in the menu. A really great compliment to the chef! We very much enjoyed our dinner...

"One of Coburg's most prominent places: The Mediterranean. Most of the coburgers are still a term today as an old shelter house with a moving history to murder and death. Located on the southern gate of Coburgs, the huge terrace directly at the lake, a large parking space in front of the door, barrier-free from the car to the car. An almost ideal gastronomy. At RK times I visited this restaurant for the first time under the current leadership. At that time the steaks were a small Fiasko, so months ago it was time to finally make a visit again. With dear friends we spent an evening at great Bruschetta (4,90 € and perfect pizza from the stone oven (about 10 € each). After my companion and I currently limit the supply of carbohydrates, it should be salads this time. We had: Salat Pollo 11,50 € Salat Mediterran 13,90 € Table water 0.4 liter 2,80 € Radler 0.4 liter 2,60 € Reserved was at 7 a.m. for 10 people, whereupon the large regular table was assigned to us at the entrance. Protected, round and thus agreed for rounds. If you like to scream at a diameter of 2.50 m... A word for service. Yeah, he's here, yes, there's enough strength on site. No, this does not guarantee a constant delay. As has been seen years ago during my first visit, the operators seem to have no fixed area. So what in our case means: Sit long and then wave to be noticed. If you're in focus, you're hitting! Three(! Operators asked me in a short sequence for my drink request. Which also needed a decent piece of time to be fulfilled. This should go all night. Either it wasn't a service on site or just in the pack. Perhaps one should think about the division to ensure a uniform service flow. We have already mentioned that the Bruschetta are a dream, although they are unfortunately falling out for us at the moment. To the salads. Fresh. Nice. Thanks for not being used by Eisbergsalat. Seasonal salad varieties, parmesan planks, pine kernels, tomato carvings, cucumber slices. The whole with lemons Balsamico olive oil dressing served, with freshly roasted turkey breast. Excellent! The enclosed white bread slices, which are briefly roasted with good oil and much chopped garlic, round off the image. The Salat Mediterran was built in rough shapes, but instead the turkey was covered with salmon, zander and scampi. I was allowed to taste and was convinced of this salad as well as of mine. Prices for salads are high. But this is relativized by the quality of what is served. The price/performance structure fits, the environment is very pleasant, next time I take a mineral water instead of the table water, then I am completely satisfied. To the toilets. Not the latest, but given the crowds of people who use them every day, they are very clean. The style of the house (rebuilt and renovated by the Kamleiter family in the 70s has not changed in recent years. Massive materials from the beam to the huge tile stove, these were not concealed even during the last owner change, it was gently lifted into the present time. Conclusion: Go, enjoy, but do not forget the big wallet."

"On a Friday night, I wanted to go to dinner with three good friends. The choice fell to Dionysos. I was against Greek food, but I was just overwhelmed. Because I'm not a friend of Greek cuisine, as I find it little ingenious and varied. All dishes include rice and tsatsiki/Zaziki. There are pigs and lambs in meat, which are all seasoned and fried in the same way (sometimes simplified and exaggerated, but this is about my view, with which I probably don't make friends here. The capacities of the Dionysos were not fully exploited this Friday night. The restaurant also offers its meals to pick up. Location/Ambience and Cleanliness Dionysos is located in the Coburger district of Cortendorf, opposite the huge building of the former brewery Scheidmantel. The dionysos itself also gives the impression of being very large from the outside. That's it. I think it's here in the area one of the restaurants with most seats. However, it is divided into several smaller areas so that it still gives a cozy impression. The individual areas are all beautifully decorated. So there are Greek paintings, statues, arches and plastic grapes on the walls. The whole thing does not look cheesy, but very stylish. A lot of work is done with yellow or gold tones. I like the ambience very well, unfortunately I was too warm all night over myself in the T Shirt. There was nothing to complain about cleanliness. Both the guest room and our table and the toilets were clean. Four and a half stars for the ambience and also four and a half stars for cleanliness. Service To welcome, I can't say anything because I came to our little team a little later. The operators (white shirt, black trousers were friendly all night, although they did not have much warmth. We had to wait almost a quarter of an hour for our drinks, although the place was only filled to two-thirds. I drank a large orange limo (0.4l for 2.60 Euro and a small Cola (0.2l for 1.60 Euro). Asked if everything is to our satisfaction was not. The service personnel were little present overall. But I think four 20 or 21 year-olds in almost every place are taken care of differently, for example a couple in the mid-fifties. Well, all in all three stars for service. On the menus you can find some cold and some hot appetizers. There are also some soups and salads. In the main dishes one has the choice between typical Greek meat and fish dishes and dishes and plates or Plates that combine the whole. Nothing special. The food My friends ordered the garlic bread for 3.50 euros. These were five slices of roasted baguette with Tsatsiki and tasted them. As main food I ordered the village plate (Steak, Souvlaki, Gyros with tsatsiki, rice and salad for 11.50 euros. The main course came about 15 minutes after the appetizer. I can't make a statement for the supplemental salad unless it seemed relatively small. So to the other components: The Gyros was very delicate and juicy. That was clearly my favorite on this plate. Souvlaki and the pork steak hardly differed from each other tastefully. Both had gotten a little too dry. The meat was all a little too weak and too boring. The rice again tasted. I can say little about the Tsatsiki, because I usually don't like to eat Tsatsiki. Yarned the whole thing with a few raw onions. The size of the portion was neat, I am tired, even though I was not completely satisfied afterwards. In addition, another village plate, a grilled chicken breast fillet with herbal butter, Zaziki, rice and salad for 10.90 euros and a gyro with metaxasauce and cheese were baked, with rice and salad, for also 10.90 euros. There would be close three stars for the food, as the others were much more enthusiastic about their dishes than I were, I give three and a half stars for the food. Price performance ratio and conclusion The prices for the drinks are within the framework, which for food is slightly above the standard level in Coburg. The Dionysos tries so I have the impression of presenting itself as something more sophisticated than other locals in the area. At least in the ambience this also succeeds. Otherwise, the restaurant supplies average. Three stars for the price performance ratio. For my part, I decided not to visit any Greek restaurant as soon as I just won't be happy. From me there would hardly be the verdict 2 again. However, I would do wrong to the Dionysus and therefore forgive 3 if it results again (1 – certainly not again, 2 – hardly again, 3 – if it arises again, 4 – happy again, 5 – definitely again note: I don't think it's good that at the vault as well as at the exit journals of the Free Apostolic Pentecost (I have been looking for some posts on the Internet And that's the way they're looking at everyone. I think a restaurant should be a religious space."
