"I had never spent time in Stuttgart and my travel companion and I didn't want to stay in a big American hotel in downtown. Based on the recommendation of a former colleague, we stayed 2 nights in Krehls Linde and could not have been happier with...the experience. I was in room 25, the modern and my companion was next door in the Asian room. Both rooms were singles and small as you would expect in Europe, but we had a private bathroom each. Both were perfectly clean. My bed was comfortable and I had a great sleep every night. We were greeted with kindness and felt completely careful at checkin. We had an unmarried dinner on the terrace in the first night and it was delicious. (But be sure to check the hours) Owner has checked us regularly and our server was absolutely charming. The wine list is extensive with regional varieties, but I found the Trolllinger with Lemberger reasonable and very tasty. The included breakfast is the thing dreams are made. We loved it! It was a spread of fresh fruit, bread, cheese, salads, meat, cereals... They call it and Krehls seemed to have it available. Great neighborhood location with a park and a beer garden just a few minutes walk away. Many street parking places, although you have to circle the block and brush your parallel parking skills. Also-gasthaus is about 20 minutes from Patch or Kelley Baracken, so if you're a PCSing in, the ride will make you familiar with the city and give you some great views. Can't recommend it very enough!!!"

Delicious, mostly local, wonderfully prepared fresh food in an unforgettable atmosphere! Fresh herbs are cultivated by the cook Volker Krehl in his own herbal bed. For our Amuse-Bouche we had a sampling of Fenchel (soup, Gratinée, croustillant). There were nine of us in our party....(reservations recommended! We all enjoyed our meals and service.
