"We had the most wonderful experience at the Manor of Groves restaurant on Saturday evening. We were staying at the hotel and had booked dinner, bed and breakfast at a special offer rate. As such we were expecting decent but standard fare. The food was beautiful and well cooked but it was the service that really stood out and is quite unusual these days. From the moment we arrived for our reservation, we were treated like we were special and valued as customers, the staff couldn't have been more attentive. Unfortunately the steaks we ordered for main course which were chargrilled had that really strong chargrilled flavour which overpowered the flavour of the steak. We mentioned this and the young girl immediately asked if we'd like them replaced to which we said yes, that would be lovely. They were taken away and the restaurant manager came straight over to apologise that this had happened and she offered us a complimentary drink as it was going to take 10-15 minutes to cook it all from scratch. This they did by offering to pan fry the steaks instead. The steaks arrived with a couple of extra sides that we hadn't ordered and were cooked to perfection. I cannot compliment the staff enough, I wish I had got their names but they were all wonderful. At breakfast the next morning I heard other members of staff interacting with the guests in much the same way. Congratulations Manor of Groves, you obviously have an excellent way of picking your staff in general or your training is top notch. Keep it up. We'll be back. Thank you for a lovely weekend."

Lovely building a superior room... no hot water. Told the reception team and they just smiled politely. Yes??? And??? Anyway only there for one night so left it at that and had tepid warm showers. Dinner was nice. Drinks rather pricey and the reception area bar was not really ideal for an intimate night out. All open plan and noisy. Overall an average stay.

Restaurant itself is not particularly welcoming, bit cold and soulless. However, the service was really good (it was quiet though) and so was the food. There was nothing particularly exotic, but what we had was well cooked, fresh and had a good balance of flavours. Decent bottle of wine too. Wasn't even particularly expensive either. Breakfast however was awful.

I booked afternoon tea here to celebrate my birthday with my family. There were 13 of us in total. I only booked a fortnight before, and had never in fact visited previously. I was pleasantly surprised, we were seated in the conservatory, with lovely views of the grounds. The staff, service, and food were all excellent. We all had a wonderful time. Thank you so much! We had lunch here for my sisters birthday. Food was excellent, but service was appalling! We were the only ones in the restaurant and only one other party in the foyer, but service was very slow. I had sachets of mayonnaise almost chucked at me across the table whilst my sister had gotten hers in a small pot. And to top it all we were over charged. Don’t think we’ll be going back.

We were pleasantly surprised by the high quality and generous portion sizes of our meal at the restaurant at Manor of Groves. Our experience was wonderful, with attentive service and top-notch food in terms of presentation, flavor, and quantity. We visited as part of a Sunday golf package and found it to be great value for money. A three-course meal typically costs less than £28 at the moment. Additionally, the buffet breakfast was above average.

Even though we only stayed for one night, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this restaurant. If you plan on booking a dinner, bed, and breakfast package and having afternoon tea, make sure to leave enough time between meals as we found it difficult to eat dinner. Consider having afternoon tea the following day instead. Despite my usual rule about the second cup of coffee not being as good as the first, I would definitely revisit this restaurant as I enjoyed my experience so much! View menu

It was a quiet Sunday night, just a few people eating in this modern brasserie. Lacks ambiance. Staff did not seem that interested in providing great service. As it turns out from other meals experiences at the Manor Of Groves, we think the staff are not very well trained and or managed. The food was OK rolls were cold, starters were decidedly average, fair play the main courses of roast pork and chicken supreme were pretty good and very filling. Whole meal was pricey. We went for a curry on the second night!!

We reserved a half-board room at Manor of Groves. The room was dark, outdated, and not very appealing. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a large hornet flying around the room and the bed had broken springs. The food was decent, although the lamb starter was served cold with a large amount of lamb crammed into a ring for presentation. The chicken main course was delicious. The staff were friendly and inviting, but the restaurant itself could use some improvement. It felt like we were sitting in a narrow passageway and we eventually preferred the options on the bar menu. While it is an old building, it could benefit from a renovation in some areas.
