"La Caravelle was our first stop in Marseille upon arrival in the evening in November. The bar was a casual and intimate atmosphere with seating for around 50 people plus room for live entertainment. We listened to jazz piano while enjoying great drinks (cocktails, wine, beer) and tapas. At night, the bar does not serve dinner, only a small selection of tapas (approximately 6 items plus one daily special). We were given free tapas when we sat down (toasted potatoes, beet salad, tomatoes with mozzarella cheese, zucchini salad) and ordered a charcuterie plate and cheese plate. It was a nice break from the big meals we have been eating while traveling though France. I would very highly recommend because of presentation of the food was simple and beautiful and although the restaurant was busy, the service was great. This restaurant receives a 5-star review for the atmosphere, presentation, service (the waiters spoke excellent English and were very attentive), and price (60 euro for 4 drinks and 2 tapas orders)."

The cafe/bar is located on the first floor, facing the Vieux Port, which is very nice. Good drinks selection, but not food. There was only like two food selections and there are bad. The inside can be quite packed.

Came for a few drinks in the first night, lunch the next day and again for drinks of our last night. Friendly staff, speak English, look good at the stairs. You have to go to the small hotel entrance door and to the first floor.

We stopped in here twice on our trip. Firstly we were looking for food but couldn't see much more than a cheeseboard but that along with a good bottle of wine was perfect at the start of the evening while sitting on the balcony overlooking...the port. We stopped in again after dinner somewhere else and there was some casual live music in the form of a pianist and a fiddler. Excellent for a couple of cocktails and a sunset.

We visited specifically for the range of cocktails advertised on the menu outside however we were disappointed to discover once seated that for some reason they weren't serving cocktails. Undeterred we stayed for food with wine instead, a good decision. There isn't a huge amount of choice, unlike some of the other local restaurants, but it's a small place and the selection of dishes was excellent. We had a salad (quite a large portion) and the lasagne and both were delicious. I also recommend the creme brulee! Not overly expensive and a lovely atmosphere.

The Caravelle is a beautiful quaint French bar within the Belle Vue hotel. The windows have a great view of the harbour and the church at the top of the hill. We visited for cocktails on a Thursday night when it wasn’t too busy. When...I ordered the cocktails there seemed to be some issue with the staff about whether or not to make them (my basic French didn’t stretch to fully understand what was the issue . The barman seemed unwilling to serve and then after discussion with the other barman he grudgingly said ok. Maybe they were overwhelmed with orders or had run out of something. The service was slow, but when they did arrive, the drinks were nice (I had a raspberry mojito for 10€ . Don’t...
