"An online tip took us to La Cocina de Toño for a tapas lunch. Located somewhat off the beaten tourist track, but within an easy walk from Plaza Mayor, this little gem seems to primarily cater to locals. Inside, it looks like a bar with just a handful of small tables, but they produce some delicious tapas. Each of us ordered three different tapas from the menu, as well as some beer or wine. Most of the items appeared to be freshly made and the lady behind the bar brought us one tapas plate (per person) at a time. As we finished one plate, another would be brought. This turned out to be perfect. We were able to enjoy each plate at a leisurely pace. By the time we had finished all three of our plates, we realised that we were full. We were all impressed with the quality of the food. The oxtail was probably the most outstanding item, as the tender meat just fell off the bone. But the lamb burgers, the codfish cakes, the thinly sliced octopus and the grilled pork were all delicious. And to top it off, lunch and drinks for four persons was just over €50. Highly recommended."

the best salamanca pintxos. variety, fresh and seasonal products, traditional cuisine with touch of innovation. They also have a good menu and tasting menu, but I'm staying with the tapas bar.

We celebrate a family event. the menu was of very good quality and made the variations that we ask for with great success for all the comensales. the raw material of excellent quality and the execution/presentation in the very good dishes. the wine and so advice menu were exceptional, as well as their service and availability at the table.

my personal opinion is that they are currently in better location, more modern facilities, attention remains equal to good, they are wonderful, attentive, working and professional people. a drop of having been able to eat and taste your letter. I loved everything we asked for, very rich the croquettes (empty), the steack pier, the lamb mussels spectacular (milk)!

Very good punctures made at the moment (10 minutes,) especially cod oxen, the foie pump filled with fig with nut sauce, Iberian feather and the ox coil taco with pure piquillo. has a good selection of wines. Don't miss it. By the way, the very professional and efficient service, will serve you the covers according to that you are consuming without anything getting cold.

We were a group of friends to eat. the very friendly waitress, even when our friends were late, offered to stay open a little longer so they could have their menu. the menu has a reasonable price and according to what they serve (18€) but the letter. price elevated for the quality of the products. Despite this, the food proved well and it was observed that they were trying to give that point of “gourmet”.

Encouraged by the Lonely Planet guide recommendation and a high Trip Advisor rating, we went there for lunch. My high expectations were significantly exceeded: each of the half dozen tapas we ordered was either very good or (more often) delicious. I was particularly impressed with the octopus carpaccio and the mini lamb burger. The wines did not disappoint, either (we had two whites and two reds by the glass). Incidentally, most of wine disappointments I experienced in Madrid were Rioja (and to a lesser extent Ribera del Duero). On the other hand, every single Toro and Castilla Leon wines we had were at least good. The staff were friendly, and the waiting time was reasonable. Do yourself a f...

We visited several places during our three day stay in Salamanca, and this place was one of our top three. We were eating tapas and trying wines in the front bar area, which has a decent size bar and then several high tables. Although the bar was almost full, the lone waiter was friendly and efficient. We ordered three different tapas: 1. small bowl of lentil stew to fight the cold outside absolutely delicious 2. mini hamburger made from local beef tender and cooked just as ordered 3. oxtail stew succulent and great value for 4,30 euros We tried the following wines, all of which I would recommend: 1. Orube Rioja Crianza 2. Valparaiso Salamanca 3. Madremia Toro All of the above for 16,50, whi...
