"First impressions were not great. It may have been a rainy day but no care had been taken with the outside tables and it all looked rather haphazard and unwelcoming. Didn’t bode well. We had upgraded to a Superior room which turned out to be distinctly average and very gloomy. Entered straight from main throughfare terrace (also very ramshackle) which was, fortunately, not in use due to change of season. There’s a lot of footfall going past. No tea making facilities although that seems to be fairly standard in France and no black breakfast tea available anyway, even when I wanted to pay for it! I don’t rate the room, including the horsehair esque mattress or the bathroom no shelving space for any toiletries and none provided, apart from a hand wash dispenser. However, the evening meal was more than adequate and the waiter very attentive. The breakfast service and choice was also very good, albeit quite chaotic. Served our purposes but we have been fortunate to stay in better hotels for the rest of our time in the Alsace."

A typical small hotel such as catering. We're using the local carefully prepared. No tralala. A beautiful address where simplicity, hospitality, kindness are values. View menu

We arrived late in Eguisheim and picked this restaurant as we stayed in their hotel. No regrets, it was very good. I had the menu of the day, local cuisine, very fair price, and accompanied by a super Leon Beyer wine.

We stayed at this hotel just one night but it was a wonderful experience. Eguisheim is an enchanted village in the Alsace region. The hotel is very tidy and it has a rustic appeal which is fascinating and peculiar. The room was a good size but it was also a little bit dated. However, we had a wonderful culinary experience in the restaurant which serves local food. We regretted not to stay more to try more plates from the local cuisine. View menu

On a walk in eguisheim we stopped at this restaurant that was known by its staff, its setting and its cuisine charmed us. we made simple with two menus of the day, the aperitif, 1/4 black pinot (excellent) and 2 coffees all for barely 45 euros. We ate very well with a seasonal alsatian salad in the spaetzles entrance and a mix of mushrooms, a pork with rösti and sauerkraut and to finish a homemade pie with apple and cinnamon. a menu without pretention but well developed and good. the staff is fast, efficient and very kind. we will return

While on above tour, which is in part visit to several wineries, we stopped at this quaint small town on way to local wine producer. La Ferme du Pape restaurant was suggested by our tour guide. When we walked to it we saw a French couple getting out of their car then going in. That cemented my opinion that this local restaurant was worthwhile we were not disappointed. We were lucky that we were seated w/o a reservation, I imagine because it was a week day we arrive just in time because it quickly filled up. The service was quick by European standards, the servers were very courteous, decorations very quaint, food delicious, well presented, of generous portions. It is a strong recommendation.

"during our spring stay in alsace, we went to the restaurant la palette, in wettolsheim. I had been there several decades ago. at the time, he was named the Florent father. the spacious dining room was modernized while keeping some elements of the 1970s and others very old. It’s a little surprising! the masterpiece of this room, it is naturally the beautiful wooded ceiling that has been well preserved! some works of art exhibited here and there bring color touches. Hence the name of the establishment the palette! We were greeted in a sober way. throughout the meal, the service was attentive, but a distant strand. there was a moment of waiting between the dishes. On the side of the dishes, the menu offers several menus, including a vegetarian, it’s in the air of time! the map of the very interesting wines. We chose the menu of the month. First of all, a light-hearted amuse. First entrance, a fatty liver with spring vegetables, pickles. two small things however: the preparation was very cold and there was a little too much acidity! Second entry: a mid-cuit tuna escalope in the pak choi, a yuzu-based vinaigrette. The fish was too cooked, so a little dry. the main dish, a beef minced, small spring peas, beans, small carrots, curry-based sauce. The meat was tender. Very tasty sauce. dessert, a melting hazelnut, with a praline sauce. delicious. Finally, chocolate domes and two small verrines. a bottle of Alsatian white wine, organic, which was interesting. we appreciate the quality of Alsatian white wines! In summary, the chef offers quality cuisine, traditional, an inventive brin, with original associations. I quickly observed the mastered side of the event caterer! the value-price relationship is appreciable!"
