"I have never felt compelled to review the good before, only the complain about the bad. However, that changed tonight following a visit to La Fregate! I am a fussy eater and only agreed to go here as my fiancé wanted a good seafood meal and I had read the excellent reviews on Trip Advisor. My fiancé and I have both agreed that this is the best meal we have ever had! My fiancé has eaten at the best restaurants in Puerto Banus and he has said that both the clams and sea bass were the best he has ever eaten. I had langoustine graitin (this has converted me to seafood), the most melt in your mouth filet steak ever (even cooked well done - exactly how I had asked for it) followed by a mini 4 pudding desert which I'm not going to try and put into words.... Devine!! My advice would be avoid the popular tourist traps in the centre of town and find this little gem just a few streets out and round the corner from the tourist information centre. Bon appetite!"

This is a hidden gem. the food and service is of the utmost top draw quality, located in a quiet unassuming side street, the menu is mostly seafood, although there are other dishes, and the wine list is outstanding. It isnt cheap but it is very very special - we're been several times now and its been as good every time.

Been here twice now. Must say that it's probably one of the best meals I've had in France. The service was brilliant and the food was awesome. Great choice especially if you like fish. The wine list was also very good. I had recommended this restaurant based on a previous meal. The in-laws, my wife and daughter had a great evening. Would highly recommend.

Visited as a stop off on megalith tour. Restaurant is down side street next to Plage office du tourisme and is well worth finding in an area known for typical seaside reataurants. I had the fish soup - decent but not outstanding, amd an excellent sea bass. Service was quiet and efficient but i think as it was a quiet day it lacked atmosphere. Prices are not OTT but are "full". Came away content

Once more we return to our second home the lovely Carnac Sur Plage in Brittany. Although the Hotel Celtique feels it no longer needs our patronage after our years of loyalty we continue to return to La Fregate, the only true restaurant of note in Carnac. The food is simple but beautifully presented, tasty and interesting. The staff are attentive, responsive and pleasant. I can't imagine a visit to Carnac without dinner at La Fregate.

Simple menu. I don't 'do' lots of courses, but the menu was very traditionally French. The duck confit and simple, non over facing plates were very well done. The waitress also believed us when our children wanted rare steaks (many French restaurants think Brits want well done). Lovely waitress too. My only small grumble was the "no reservation" dis from the lady that 'welcomed' us... I liked the room at the back, it was lovely, just give us a smile! my family loved their gourmand puddings too!

The meal was delicious and the waiter was extremely attentive and personable. Although the restaurant was busy, we did not need to wait at any time throughout the meal. My husband has high expectations and he was amazed that the waiter took time with us. He engaged in conversation and helped me with the wine to complement my meal They personally thanked us when we left. Due to this excellent service, the fine food, and the ambience of the surroundings, this was one of our most memorable French restaurants--- and we traveled 3 weeks.

This was the 'stand out' best place we ate in Carnac le Plage. We chose from the e23 menu and enjoyed some really nice wines to accompany the fine selection of dishes. Fish soup, escargot and pate were all excellentService was friendly, helpful and unrushed- we enjoyed dessert and coffee. The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated. The other clientele included families with well mannered small children and the whole experience was a joy.Overall, four of us spent E161 and it was the best meal of our trip. It is just a short stroll from the beach and the teeming eateries which I think are best avoided.

Hubby and I visited this lovely little restaurant during our stay at Carnac and had a superb meal. The service was friendly and efficient. We chose from the €33 menu and were not disappointed. Our starters were langoustines gratin, and scallops a la Breton - both very tasty dishes. Our mains were beef filet with chips, and seabass. The beef was cooked to perfection. The sea bass was succulent and accompanied by a carrot mousse (yum) and mashed potatoes. For dessert I went for the gourmand plate which consisted of 4 small taster dishes - chocolate fondant, caramel ice cream, iced nougat with red berry coulis and creme brulee, whilet hubby went for the large creme brulee. We both thoroughly en...
