"In a complex way, this will be a memorable experience for a long time, and one that we'll share with friends too. We were concerned that the restaurant showed no signs of life 15 minute before the opening time for dinner service. We knocked and woke up the chef/owner. This began an amusing series of events that should be incorporated into a story some day, but not here. The chef/owner is clearly a superb cook. The waiter speaks multiple languages. When items were served, the chef/owner came out to make sure we were pleased. My wife really enjoyed her pasta with vegetables. I had a combination dinner for 25 EU that allowed a wide choice of appetizers and main courses. I selected mussels as my appetizer and a broiled combination platter for my main course. I loved my mussels (very large ones) with cheese, melted. The broiled combination platter included fillets of four different types of fish. Some of the filets were large enough to stand on their own as a main course! It also came with two large shrimp with heads on. The saffron rice was exceptional, with more than the usual amount of saffron. Because of the stormy weather, only one other couple showed up at the restaurant that night. We'll go back again next time we are in the area for sure."

E100 for 2 courses, 2 people, 2 bottles of middling wine and unchewable lamb chops. Far too dear. Not recommended unless you are perhaps staying close by and want a pizza.

Under new management and relieved of its previous clinical ambiance with now more character. Chef aims to please. Waiter speaks english and is very helpful. Interesting art work.

Ten of us appeared on the doorstep of La Frigoulette. We had not reserved as our outing to this restaurant was not planned in advance. The waitress, although taken aback by such an influx of customers, advised that we all take the same menu to facilitate service. Bingo! The food was very good and the price excellent.

I live nearby in Ceret, and we come here once or twice a week, when we are 'in town '. A good honest menu, which is more comprehensive than others in our area, catering for vegetarians and meat eaters, alike. It really does have an extensive menu. The Pan et Tomate et Aioli is a real killer starter/nibble, and everything is of a good standard for the price. Cod with potatoes gratin is very good, my wife like omelettes, and the mushroom one is packed with them. A restaurant you can go to , which is consistent, friendly and very good value for money

I never made it placing my orders before I observed the round little waiter go berserk over the fact a foreign family with 2 kids politely asked the waiter if their children could share a plate. Amazing to see, the waiter first refused them kids menu, then tried to squeeze up the pizza choice to more expensive ones. The last thing I saw was the little man smacking the menu in the table upon receiving the above question. Considering that the menu was so greasy that pages were stuck tight, I am glad I just walked away. 2 min up the street is a better alternative where customers are valued, prizes are lower and good local food is served. Casot de la Farga, I think it was called. Good luck!

This restaurant is easy to find on the main D915 road from Ceret to Amelie les Bains. There is a car park immediately across the road from the restaurant. There is an extensive menu with various choices of French cuisine to suit all tastes from frog's legs to pizza. The waitress spoke good English. The restaurant seemed to be full only of French speaking locals which is a good sign. We turned up without having booked a table and had no hassles. Prices are average for the area. We had a variety of food including pasta, seafood, frog's legs and salads all of which were great and no cause for concern. Dessert was ice cream and fresh fruit salad (although some of this was tinned). Service was qu...

Sadly, we made a point of coming back to this restaurant after passing by on a visit to Amelie les Bains (which had several restaurants. We thought we would support this small town spot. We sat down on the inside which housed the majority of tables and were the only ones there. There were people seated on the terrace. One of us speaks Spanish and the other speaks French, both of which the Owner claimed he understood. The restaurant had local cuisine so we had some questions as to what they were so we could make a choice. We decided to keep it simple and order pizza or possibly the Milanese (schnitzel for the kids. The Owner was quite impatient and said we needed to hurry up and get on with o...

"the ranking particularly flattering of this 2nd restaurant on 137 restaurants makes the customer's expectations always high. The risk of being disappointed is, then, great. It was not, quite, the case here, but a few weak points make the culinary experience below that was hoped. Also, let's be precise and circumstantial to better understand this view the room includes about twenty blankets, arranged in a small decorating room without charm, or identity. Obviously, a reflection must be made to make the place more friendly and warm at a time, attention is drawn to the dishes offered. the products used are fresh and local. it is clear that a special care is focused on the desire to offer a closed kitchen and bring producers of the region to a closure. But, what's really about the kitchen in the gallery? Well, the young chef, alone in the kitchen, masters his dishes and makes a point of honor to send plates to the visual and soothing works. Its cuisine is very tasty and generous. However, it is difficult not to say that taking risks is fairly low. in fact, offering a charcuterie plaque, however beautiful, it is, is not really part of the culinary art. idem for a perigonurdine salad that does not spill codes or taste buds. pastry, and more precisely, the mille-feuilles benefit from a satisfactory realization, but there again, we are far enough from what is done better and especially more original in this field the wines proposed are at very reasonable prices and always put to the honor of local products. - service is done with smile and efficiency. conclusion: of course, the skill of the gallery is to offer spectacular plates visually and which have flavors whose chef does not have to rougir. However, the expectation of something more consistent with the ranking is not fulfilled. you can only invite this restaurant to take the risk of a kitchen can be less beautiful but more engaged and bolder for taste buds. Certainly, this could lead, as incredible as that, to a decrease in the threeadvisor classification. Is the risk really worth the candle? Nothing is less certain..."
