"I have many great memories surrounding this little restaurant in Bonn's Innenstadt. When my wife and I first moved to Germany we spent many evenings at La Piccola commiserating about culture shock and German language. This is a special place. It may not be the most outstanding Italian restaurant in Bonn, but you can't get much better for easy, casual dining. It's your typical Italian eatery simple but good pasta dishes, modest wine list, and friendly Italian transplants waiting tables. It's good food, nice atmosphere, at an affordable price. While it won't win any major culinary awards, La Piccola will definitely fill your simple Italian cravings."

When you enter in this restaurant, you find an old atmosphere of Italy and you feel confident! Unfortunately, when you get your dish, you find something which has nothing to do with an italian pizza.... Actually, pasta are not even better (they put some liquid fresh cream in the pasta alla carbonara ! . There is a tradition in Italy : never go to a restaurant where they propose pizza and pasta in the same time. Now I understand this Principle! View menu

Walked by several times before I decided that it was a sign that I had to try this place.. either that or I was walking in circles because I was lost!! : Had the milano pizza.. essentially ham, mushrooms a dusting of oregano on top. Nice crust.. crispy but not too thin either. And the sauce was quite delicious! A huge pizza for one person. Perfect size for me.. might be much for some, but I was hungry after all that walking in circles! The pizza plus some sparkling water put me back $8.90. Grazie!

This place should not even have the right to call itself a restaurant. I have seen non-Italian youth hostels serve better Italian food. It was so bad I felt the need to create a google+ account just to write this review. The service is quite quick but then again that is what you would expect from food which is as good in taste and consistency as ready-made meals that you obtain in the frozen section. Honestly avoid it at all costs unless you feel like throwing money down the drain. I would rate it 0/5 if I could.

Bonn is a charming city on the Rhine, known for Beethoven's birthplace. Typical dishes include Sauerbraten, Rhenish mussels, and Himmel un Ääd, a mix of mashed potatoes and apples.
