"Just bad. The fact we could get a table easily on a busy night should have been enough of a red flag to keep walking. The croquettes came out minutes after our drinks were served no way were they cooked fresh. This is when I knew we’d made a big mistake The croquettes were runny inside, not the nice creamy texture you’re meant to have looked like the filling had split. Before we’d taken more than a couple of bites the ‘mains’ were served, and this is where it all went downhill. We ordered Bocaditos de Bacalao and the Iberian pork steak. The Bacalao was inedible, the ‘batter’ was flaccid and undercooked and tasted eggy the whole dish was wet and sloppy and I couldn’t even make it look like I’d eaten anything to save embarrassment. Honestly one of the worst things I have even been served and I love Bacalao. The pork, whilst cooked ok, looked like it had been hacked up by a blind person and was in dire need of seasoning. We ate hardly any of either dish, quickly asked for the bill (they didn’t enquire or care as to why the dishes were untouched) and went somewhere else promptly avoid!"

I ended up here because the tavern I wanted to go to was on vacation and they told me it was some of the best broken eggs in Madrid. I wasn't disappointed, but he didn't dazzle me either (they do, the menu cheats a little. It seemed that classic eggs came with ham and finally came alone). The place doesn't say much, but it's okay. I don't know if he'd come back.

Steps away from the flat we rented, it was raining and we were hungry. Although we arrived without a reservation, the host found us a table quickly. we started with some delicious wine and croquettes. Both were delicious. The day before we had a lovely dinner of roast suckling pig at the famous Bo’tin restaurant. I wanted to compare the two, so we ordered as main course. Believe it or not, it was actually better. The skin was crispy, the meat was tender but the flavor of the meat and essence was far richer. My advice, visit Bot’in but eat here. You won’t be disappointed.
