"Before I continue, I want to clarify that this is not a tapas restaurant. If you are looking for authentic Spanish cuisine, this is not the place to go. They mainly serve side plates and pizza. My first experience at this restaurant was not great as we were constantly bothered by flies on a cold January evening. Despite this, we decided to book the restaurant for a special family dinner to celebrate a 70th birthday. However, the service was extremely slow and disappointing. It was a busy Saturday night, but with only three waiters working, it was difficult to get their attention. After 35 minutes of waiting, we had to ask for drinks ourselves. When we finally ordered our food, we were told to wait for two other tables to order first. It took 90 minutes for seven out of eight pizzas to arrive, and the last pizza took even longer, causing our food to become cold. To make matters worse, it was the birthday girl's pizza that was delayed. We had to beg for our second round of drinks, which arrived just before we received the bill. The only efficient part of the night was paying the bill. Despite the busy night, the staff made no effort to rectify the situation or offer any apologies. If they cannot handle a full restaurant, they should not accept so many reservations. I have not given this restaurant a one-star review only because the price for the food is fair. Overall, our family was extremely disappointed and will not be returning."

Came in with my girlfriend for a late Valentine’s Day meal as I was working away and we were blown away by the quality of the food and the service received. The decor is lovely and we will 100% be back again and again and again.

The food was incredible, the service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was just perfect. It was truly a delightful experience. We got five tapas dishes for £30, and the portions were really generous. I will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. View menu

My partner wasn't sure about Tapas he's quite a fussy eater. The staff took time to explain all the dishes and make recommendations based on his responses. We ended up over ordering just to be sure he'd find something he liked and not a single dish disappointed! We had to take food home, it was too good to waste but we were absolutely full. Couldn't recommend it more!

What can I say? This place is amazing! They offer epic pizzas, tapas, and cocktails. I especially love the Kiev pizza and the garlic bread is my favorite. We discovered this place shortly before Christmas and have been coming back every week since. The staff, especially Lesley, Sylvia, and Juni, always make the experience even better. The best time to go is on a Friday night when it's bustling with people. The atmosphere is great and it feels like you're in Spain. Despite the unpredictable weather in Cleadon, this hidden gem is a must-visit. Jake, Poppy, and Carlos recommend it too. View menu

On February 19, 2022, we visited La Vina in Cleadon on a very busy Saturday night. Despite being fully booked, the atmosphere was lively and the food was excellent. Although there was a slight delay in service, it was to be expected given the crowded restaurant. Some negative reviews about the service are unfounded - a 10-minute wait during peak times is reasonable. The extensive tapas menu offered a refreshing change from the usual options, including a variety of Asian dishes. The ability to add garlic bread to a tapas special offer was a nice touch. As regular patrons who live in the village, we love La Vina and plan to return. Our Saturday night was thoroughly enjoyable, thanks to Sylvia...

Such slow, inadequate service which ruined our evening avoid avoid avoid. Had to ask after waiting for 40m for the waitress to just take our order and she then had to go check with the kitchen that they could take the order… Waited over 30m for drinks. When the first set of tapas dishes eventually arrived, half of them were cold and we had to send them back. Then they got the order wrong and gave us incorrect dishes and blamed it on a junior member of staff, and although they offered to correct it we were so sick of waiting by this point we just went with the dishes we were given. There was not one point the entire evening that the staff approached our table to take our order, ask how the fo...

"Booked as a table of 10 (work night out) we are all nurses and having a well deserved night out. Arrived to be told no booking in diary. Person who organised said she booked via Facebook and got a sharp reply “We need to confirm” she said you did and showed him the reply!! Sent to the bar whilst we waited for a table, took around 15 mins. Due to the new covid rules And one way system this meant we had to Go out and come back in when table ready. Plastic screens also on end of tables but to be honest made no difference as the diners were sitting at either side and the screen isn’t wide enough to offer any protection. Some Waiters wearing masks, but most didn’t most of had them on their chin!! Popadom and pickle tray ordered. No idea what was on the pickle tray!! No onion salad or lime pickle, the only one any of us could determine was mango chutney! We all had starters and mains, all food piping hot and no one complained about quality of food. It was all very tasty. Asked for some to be boxed up to take home. Boxes just put in middle of table. One of the group didn’t notice this and his meal was taken and disposed of. Had he had almost 2/3 left! Anywhere else I’ve been they always box for you! Even just a cheap special on ocean road they always box it for you!! Drinks ordered at the table, had to be chased up on one occasion as one drink forgotten. It’s the service that lets this place down. The food is lovely but I’ve had same quality food with better service on ocean road! And it’s cheaper!"
